Re: Campaign: The Life of a Mage

playing on hard: First Try: I like the idea, but on hard it was slightly too hard. Because there were no variety of units, it was hard to have good strategy, and the magical magic puff nullified any good defense a village or castle might give. I only just won by dodging 3 guys around about 6 enemie...

Re: How do I stop losing money against scout-spam scenarios?

is it ok to assume that "northern winter" in HttT has the same problem ? a large map, with enemy units being faster (wolf riders not slowed by mountains) than any of your own units maybe this tactics work: try to attract the bats by placing a single unit with low hitpoints, or wounded, or on bad ter...

Re: Walkthrough Improvements - Recall Outlines?

on easy, it is easier to "direct" the experience to the units that need it, to "prepare" the enemy for the final killing attack for example, first attack with an elvish archer, then with a shaman and both can't kill the enemy unit in best case at last attack with a loyal unit supported by leadership...

Re: Campaign: The Life of a Mage

because "easiest" was so easy, i'm trying "hardest"... in the 7th scenario, the catacombs, i have to fight level 2 ghost i can't have units that can surely (worst case) survive one of their attacks, can't run away because they're faster, and also i'm not allowed to sacrifice any of my units, even th...

Re: Scenario Review: HttT - Gryphon Mountain

the ai generally attacks that unit that it is most likely able to kill on that turn to make the gryphons attack your enemy, make it impossible to reach your weak units by placing elvish archers (level 1 is enough) on wood hexes in front of them, for example the result of this scenario also largely d...

Re: Scenario Review: SoF 4 - Gathering Materials

the map is random, i restarted the scenario several times until i was lucky enough...on easy on the previous trials, i stuck somewhere in the tunnels, fighting again and again new enemies, owning too few villages recruit the miners (or only one miner) when you're finished with the first enemy leader...

Re: Scenario Review: (HttT) The Sceptre of Fire

has anyone ever had one of the crown units dying in an opening up lava chasm in this scenario (and immediately lost then)...? i've seen this several times happen to (non-crowned) enemy units :-) , and also once to one of my dwarves... it seems that for every turn there is only one lava chasm that is...

Re: Campaign: The Life of a Mage

I really like this, it is nice and relaxing compared to the strain/challenge of HttT. I suppose I'd better hope it gets much harder later so the hardcore players don't complain but this training stuff is nice. i played on "easiest"...no, it indeed stays easiest even on the later levels, i used to h...

Re: Campaign: The Life of a Mage

just finished that scenario...i tried to protect Gilder and Li'sar with two sets of cannon fodder units recruted in the first turn, but it's rather luck that Li'sar survived it seems i'ts not possible to foresee on what position the ai will move Li'sar, but it works to present the enemy weak or woun...

Re: Campaign: The Life of a Mage

scenario: "A daring rescue": the AI friends tend to sacrifice their hero units... Lord Gilder has no keep and approaches rather alone the enemy in the northwest, got killed within 2 turns the second time, Li'sar moved alone into the castle of the southern enemy, she got caught and kiled... both time...

Error message when starting manually installed campaigns

(i can post a screenshot if needed) when starting THE SAME campaigns after installing automatically, using the ingame add...
