Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

I'm honestly not sure if Karin is even an English name as I just picked some random syllables and threw them together. Maybe I'll try Caryn, just to see how it works. I randomly picked the name Elendil for the white mage in the dungeons because it sounded like a cool name. Later I found it was actua...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

@stillcen So if I got that correctly you were playing on Wesnoth version 1.5.14, with the source code intended for 1.6? If so that's probably why its not working. I get the following error message at the scenario "The Knalgans" The game could not be loaded: load_game_failed: Attempt to de-serialized...

Re: scenario without a leader

Code: Select all

victory_when_enemies_defeated=no
You'll have to make a manual victory event, but you won't lose for not having a leader.

EDIT: Ah, you don't try to kill the opponent, I see. Forget the bit about the manual victory event.

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

0.7.9 I've got a few things I was wondering about. 1. The campaign takes place in section of Wesnoth history reported to be rather peaceful. Is this whole war of the Icestone thing too much? I could dumb it down to a simpler The Evil Mal-Karin attacks Weldyn, and Dillon and Arand have to summon an a...

Re: Wesball

In the beginning when you choose your units (one or the other) if you do not pick either, both will be moved to your team. Something else, hitting with any attack gives ball to the attacker. This makes tackle pretty much useless. EDIT: Oooh, I feel dum now. I booted the ball into my own goal, and it...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

SKELERANGER RETURNS FROM THE DEAD! Sorry, I've really busy with school. I'm up and going again though and I'm trying to upgrade to 1.6. I just ran a massive dialogue and bugfix('till about 11:00 last night) and I should have the latest version uploaded soon. Undead hoard While the image of an ancien...

corpses/logs of their fallen comrades.
 Woses are actually made of wood.? I thought they were fairy people thingies(like Elves) that happened to look like trees. This is news to me.

Re: Art for Tale of a Mage

Variations won't hurt. SkeleRanger now has 3 female child sprites :) Sadly, because of the way I wrote the child sprites(each gender advancing separately), variations would probably require me to rewrite the thing. Orcish Shyde's sprites look good, but I'd like to see what Trashman's finished sprit...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

18_Orcish_Supremacy crashes when the enemy leader starts recruting units which is probably due to the fact that there are no Orcish Bowman (as called in the cfg) but just Orcish Archers. Whoops For some reason, the Undead leader appeared but did not get a camp. Maybe because a unit of mine was stan...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

I suggest to eliminate all problems reported by wmllint now before continuing, my log file still has about 100 lines for your campaign. (I usually do this manually, a lot of work, but you learn at most this way. It's probably best to run wmllint frequently since starting the campaign and to keep re...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

Latest upload. Mages advancing and kids escaping bugs have been fixed and seem to work fine. I haven't tested the rest of the campaign yet and will have to play it through before I can add anything new. Please tell me if you find any more bugs.

Re: Art for Tale of a Mage

@doofus&thespaceinvader: Thanks. Works fine now. according to HTTT, 16 is old enough to unlawfully take the throne when the rightful heir was Li'sar all along. Actually, Konrad was about 1 when Asheviere tried to kill him, making him 17 when he and Delfador flee from Aethenwood, and 18 when he final...

Re: [kill] not working

Well, technically its the number of children that still need to reach the escape point  , but yeah what TrashMan said. When all the children escape trigger the victory/beat_the_crud_out_of_Slinian message. I'm pretty sure this still works but it makes no sense if the kid's still there.
