Re: Wesnoth and Religion

Witchcraft, (the "real" kind, that is, in real life, which gets its power from demonic sources) is very wrong. Whether killing them was right or wrong is disputable. I agree with this 100%. What I meant was that if make believe magic is evil due to the impurity of the mind imagining them, them in c...

Re: Wesnoth and Religion

On the other hand, if the power does not exist in reality but only in make-believe, then the source of that power is simply your own mind. The sinfulness or purity of make-believe powers is therefore determined by the sinfulness or purity of the mind itself. So in past witch burnings (such as the S...

Re: Where did you get your username from?

I've always liked Lichs and skeletons and whatnot, and I thought the "ranger" part sounded cool. It was either that or "GeekyLich." :|

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

1.0.0 is finally done!

I've added the last playable scenario as well as the epilogue. I'd like to know what people think.

Re: Wesnoth and Religion

I've noticed Wesnoth manages to have somewhat of a "spiritual side" without actually crossing over into the area of religion. There seems to be a well defined sense of the soul (ghosts and what not) as well as a belief in an afterlife. In the cases of supposed consequences for benevelont or malevole...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

Bugs/Gameplay quirks: In first scenario-- - No message after Olaf dies - The AI being overprotective of Dillon actually works to the player's advantage, and the peasants scored plenty of kills and level-ups. While this may have been intended, it gives the impression that the village could have surv...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

Are you using 0.9.0? I believe I fixed this for the 0.9.1. If not, I can re-upload.

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

In German you'd be called a "Stehaufmaennchen" (about: stand-up-guy)...you're absent from wesnoth so long that one thinks your campaign is dead but you always come back. ;) You forget you are dealing with a necromancer Sweet! I'm learning German in school, so that's cool to know. although there's s...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

0.9.0 Updated to 1.8. EDIT: 0.9.1 The level where you're supposed to be fighting trolls in the cave....well, the troll boss is there, but he comes under the player's control, so that the human player has control of both sides. I was able to take nearly all the bases and raise a good chunk of cash th...

Try using a [male] tag instead of [filter], sort of like this. #textdomain wesnoth-units [unit_type] id=Kidsfolk Shaman name= _ "Kidsfolk Shaman" race=human gender=male,female # #Common statistics # [male] name= _ "Shaman" gender=male # #Male variations # [/male] [female] name= _ "female^shaman" gen...

Re: Why does the Silver Mage use fire?

If you were thrown in fire, would you die because of your dear "chemical reactions" or because you got fried? There's actually a very thin line between the two. Being "fried" is chemical reaction(using heat), converting what was once biological tissue into carbon. On the Dark Adepts. Arcane does no...
