Re: Woodmouse's sprites
I haven't seen all of your sprites, but this appears to be the best so far. And you've adjusted to the crits very well too. :) IMO the hat looks a little large and misshapen - it appears to be the size of his torso and head combined. Although I've seen hats that large, it would seen uncomfortable an...

Shadow_Master what's your verdict on the two .txt files I posted?

Re: trying my hand
That's definitely on the right track. :D Like you said, having something else in the frame to reference scale really helps. Now I have the impression that his is pretty tall, if that boulder is as big as I think it is. Previously, he seemed to be just twice as big as a man. If you continue with this...

Re: trying my hand
I apologize if I'm part of the cause of your discontent. I did not think it was something funny nor did I post smiley faces. The reason I made the correlation was because of the smallish head with the limited canopy as well as the slender upper arms. The Wose appears more like a thick oak tree, in m...

Re: trying my hand
That wose is a great start, but like Kitty suggested this will be a difficult portrait to conjure. For me, I have an affection for the wose (maybe it's the sprite design) and I think great care should go into getting a proper design for it, much like the gryphon. If you've seen the portrait, you kno...

Re: Red Masquerade Faction
I would think the soldier would be a nice balance. Losing a level three is unfortunate, but it is your own fault somewhere down the line. Having the mask create a level 0 would seem to lose its knowledge and experience of its past lvl 3 life. Thus the lvl 1 seems appropriate for the rebirth. Maybe a...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.12.0) for Wesnoth 1.6
Before I go much further than Crossfire in English revisions, are the loyalists of your time period capitalized? I have come across it both ways in the text. I believed it was addressed somewhere else in these forums, but when referring to a race or group of people the word should be capitalized. I ...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
I didn't notice any such connotations either. Unless LordBob painted those lines red and called him a crusader, then maybe it wouldn't be appropriate. I believe circle emblem on the chest diverts these thoughts well enough.

Re: Red Masquerade Faction
Everything about this faction is very cool and captures the imagination. I hope you can realize all of your ambitions here, as this has the potential to become very big. The art, though..the art...

Re: Woodmouse's portraits (Saurian Oracle outlines)
One last piece of advice that might seriously help you, Woodmouse. In addition to looking at a reference while you draw (such as a lizard from National Geographic), go to your local art store and look around for tracing paper. It comes in a tablet and the pages are thin enough to see through. Now pr...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
I believe the horse looks fine for it appears to have just trotted into view for the photograph.:D Warhorses generally are controlled with the pressure of the legs, leaving the hands free for weapons. Everything looks fine to me except the height of the rein hand above the saddle's pommel. It could ...

Re: Woodmouse's portraits (Saurian Oracle outlines)
What may also help is to sketch your figure with out the clothing first, then add the costuming once the stance has been decided. This will help you with problems such as U-shaped spaghetti arms or cheating the robe to make the figured hunched when it isn't. Also in line with what others have repeti...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.12.0) for Wesnoth 1.6
I'm posting the first of the revisions as an experiment to see what works for you, Shadow_Master. I have my .txt-converted .rtf file and a plain text .txt made in word. I'm doing this because I noticed a difference in the symbols around Ledinor's name. Let me know which you prefer. I'm only selectin...

Re: Era of Myths Portraits
That is a great sketch! Just a quick observation though on the beckoning hand. If he was to extend all of his fingers, his index finger would be the longest on his hand. Maybe shorten the segment by his knuckle down..unless Wargs have this inherited trait
