Re: Names for types of high level mages
Just peeking in to vote for the Dimensional Mage (really captures imagination), and to put forth my own Celestial Mage..

Re: Items
My preference is still for the original, but I see what you mean by the 'fuzziness'. You did a good job keeping the bones to a sprite's proportions, however. If you can emulate the original's angle and keep the bones the right size, that should do it.

Re: Retro Era
As the Forum Sith will tell you, watch out for copyright materials. Nothing of that sort can mix with Wesnoth - in game or the forums. Think "Michael Rat" instead of "Mickey Mouse"...

Re: Retro Era
I like this idea also. I would be interested in seeing both mainline and your originals, however, a retro-mainline revamp (or unvamp?) might take awhile. Perhaps a faction of your own would be best for playing purposes for now? For me, this is nostalgic of my other favorites Warlords I & II. 8)

Re: Journey's End
Sounds really good, West. Can't detect anything wrong with it. I don't believe adding measures would benefit the piece - there isn't a section in my opinion that calls for a loop. Perhaps adding a quick fade, 2 seconds or less, at the beginning to bring in that sustained note.. :hmm: Otherwise, pret...

Re: Journey's End
Ha! Like I said it's not much of an issue, and I'm not that familiar with that section. I don't know if a different variant of trumpet would work (i.e. the B flat or C trumpet) or another horn altogether, just to experiment. It probably is one of those two anyway - shows how good my ears are :annoye...

Re: Journey's End
That was music to my ears, West. Very well done. I was a musician for four years but certainly no composer, which leads me into a very minor nitpick: the trumpet around the 2:20s seems like an oddball here. I was glued to the listen then I instantly noticed this, perhaps it's too "brassy" ...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
@ Cloud: Of course the bit can rest at the back of the mouth without being drawn tight, but being that loose the horse could hurt itself. Also a horse should never eat grass with the bridle on as it wraps around the bit choking the horse - that's what halters are for. Here's a picture of a trained '...

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
I just wanted to chime in here and say I completely agree with Jetryl. I understand that some people want to protect/receive due recognition for their work, but to offer works for use only to set snares of red tape around it is pointless. Also I've been playing Wesnoth since 2007. It was the sprite ...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
That is a marvelous piece :!: The only thing I can notice is that the bit is not tight in the horse's mouth. It appears that he's pushing it out with his tongue which he wouldn't be able to do. I'm not sure if you need to extend the horses lower lip or move the bit further back to correct this. Mayb...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.12.0) for Wesnoth 1.6
Here's the next two. These will be a pain because of all the little events that trigger.. Just know that I'm not dancing through the text with a marker changing what I enjoy. Each thread has a legitimate change whether it be capitalization or sentence correction.

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.12.0) for Wesnoth 1.6
Alright... These should be up to speed now. These have been newly corrected after reviewing how the ellipses (...) work in the files. The correct way should be e.g. "I am hungry . . . but I don't have the strength to eat." This works fine for books. However, if this was to be inputted into...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.12.0) for Wesnoth 1.6
Thanks for mentioning the encoding used for the file - that pointed me in the right direction. TextEdit should be able to handle this now. Soon I'll re-post the same file using this method, then continue when you give the "all clear". The main reason I'm doing this is because it's one of t...
