Re: Network Communication Error

The point is that 'Network Communication Error' tells me only that apparently some invalid WML was received and there were further details printed to stderr.

Re: Windows Installer localization

Wesnoth-specific strings in the installer are currently not translatable. But probably it's possible to make them translatable using the means provided by nsis. Perhaps it's even possible to make installer's translations be available among other wesnoth's po files. I'd be looking forward to this job...

Re: Problem compiling Wesnoth with SVN

Recently wesnoth started using boost.program_options. You'll need to install packages for it too. libboost-program-options-dev or so.

Re: Problem compling Wesnoth with SVN

My first idea would be to run sudo ldconfig but it already should be automatically run during sudo apt-get install. Maybe you should have installed libboost-thread1.42-dev instead of libboost-thread-dev or the other way around. In any case runtime linker can't find libboost_iostreams.so.1.40.0 and i...

Re: Problem compling Wesnoth with SVN

It looks like -lboost_system etc work while -lboost_thread doesn't so it appears you don't have boost.thread installed after all. Maybe you're just missing the -dev(libboost-thread-dev or libboost-thread1.42-dev) package for it. Plain boost_thread package is only for already compiled apps that use b...

$charris@f13 wesnoth-1.9.6$ ls /usr/lib64/libboost_thread-mt.* /usr/lib64/libboost_thread-mt.a /usr/lib64/libboost_thread-mt.so.1.44.0 /usr/lib64/libboost_thread-mt.so Since you didn't attach build/config.log I can only guess but passing boost_suffix=-mt will most likely solve this. Some distros se...

Runs scons with --config=force and attach build/config.log

Re: [Status] Primary Multiplayer server outage

The outage is caused by trunk server going bonkers. It happens to be responsible for redirecting all clients to server of appropriate version so this is why all versions were affected. It seems to work right now after it was restarted but if it goes down again then one can connect to previous versio...

Re: Running in Windows 7 64-bit

Wesnoth already compiles on 64-bit platforms. But supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit in official installer is extra work for little benefit. That doesn't mean I won't eventually do it though.

Re: Problem installing wesnoth on Linux

The install problem should be fixed in SVN now. 'scons uninstall' will delete whatever man pages/manuals 'scons install' would have installed now , not what was installed before. Probably those translated manpages and manuals were dropped because their translations weren't full enough to warrant the...

Re: Problems compiling 1.9.4 with boost library

Probably you just need to run scons --config=force because it didn't rerun that test program. If it still fails paste build/config.log

Re: Problems compiling 1.9.4 with boost library

Distros generally don't install libs into /usr/local/lib. It seems to be a custom install of boost. In order for runtime linker to find the library in /usr/local/lib this entry should be in /etc/ld.so.conf, naturally changes in this file take effect after a ldconfig run.
