Re: Suggestion: Chess Clock
As it is now a game could last forever even with the timer enabled. FYI... there is a turn limit as well. multiply that by the reservoir limit and you have an upper bound on total time. Yes, but it doesn't negate the fact that there is no way whatsoever to predict how long a game will last the most...

[Suggestion] Display enemy-moves area
This was posted as a suggestion for mainline some time ago and has, as far as I know, not been denied nor gotten any love either. I re-post it shortened down. idea I suggest that there could be an option in Wesnoth to, while enabled, display an area which corresponds to a simplified version of what...

Re: [WTactics] Name cards & Describe the art
kraken: Like the suggestions for both name & art for Questioned Motives. How would we portray "deep thought"? A person scratching the head? Or his beard maybe? ;) # Put a doubt token on the next two creatures that are put into play. Creatures with a doubt token may not attack unless t...

Re: Wesnoth II - Wesnoth 3D.
Ok. A example will soon be up. I will show you how lua or code may be used to turn the 2D pngs into 3D pngs(that are fully rotatable). The lua code uses broken up pieces of art to determine how it will look, I will use examples from silvertree, and possibly oolite. EDIT: Sorry, I mean jpegs, the im...

[WTactics] Name cards & Describe the art
http://ubuntu-pics.de/bild/71780/namecard_o7XtQ6.png Purpose Again I turn to the powers of the forum to gather it's energies ;) This time around I'd like to invite anyone to read simple card texts and 1) Come up with a name(s) for the card and 2) suggest how the art for such a card could look like....

Re: WTactics: Original-art-give-back
@Atz: Yups. I figured what you wrote is a possible way of understanding it. That's why I wrote the spoiler. I'm very aware of the problem. That said, I don't believe that the hetero fantasy should dictate the lives and looks of lesbians. ;) The fact that the hetero man has an imagination / sexual f...

Re: WTactics: Original-art-give-back
 Gay elves...? Hetero-elves? Bi-elves? Why shouldn't there be gay elves, if indeed, that is what's in the eyes of the beholder? Have I missed out on heteronormative stereotypical anti-gay-elf-lore-rules? ;) Queers? Maybe even asexual elves that wanted to kiss for some reason? Maybe, due to w...

Re: Implement the Wesnoth Ladder
What is the result of such a solution? The fork team gets dependent on ladder team - nothing bad about it, but some organisational matters arise - someone should take care of the cooperation In general, it's a bad idea for teams to depend on each other unless the teams are stable and there is conti...

Re: saves instead of replays
Hi, I find it a bit annoying that a number of replays (by my rough estimation around one third of them) on the Ladder website are not proper replays but just (auto-)saves from last round(s) of play. /../ 3) they do it intentionally (for example not to show their playing style, but to certify the re...

Re: Implement the Wesnoth Ladder
Just an example. If I understand correctly, the coders will need descriptions for all aspects of the request. This is a continuation of the way that Gambit paved and not a correction of what s/he wrote: Rating System There are really only two variations of viable working and sound rating systems. O...

Re: Ladder Site Online...
actually its surprising for me that i received no negative feedback at all so far. the only thing ive heard is that some maps might be unbalanced, but that came only from eyerouge and docpatterson so far and ive never SEEN the actual unbalance in any replay. maybe the LADDER PLAYERS WHO ACTIVELY PL...

Re: beta test the replay parser
Updated instructions for trying it out There are two ways to test the parser. One is to simply upload your replay file and let it parse it. The other one is to state the name of a file that has already been previously uploaded by anyone, and in such a case that specific file would be parsed again. ...
