Re: Share undoable moves with allies

First, let me say CONGRATULATIONS. This project is very exciting and stands to fix some of my major hangups in the wesnoth interface encountered by new players. Error questions: What happens when a user builds a plan and then hits end turn instead of commit? Will they end turn without moving anythin...

Implement the Wesnoth Ladder

Over 25,000 games of Wesnoth ladder matches have been played, and 160,000 matches have been watched in replay! Even with barriers of having to report matches to a third party website, people still play ladder matches on a large scale. The ladder has been a phenomenal success. But, it could be so muc...

Re: Asking to re-introduce 1.6 lobby as an optional choice

I'm working on it. Well, Working on 3 things at the moment: 1. Getting this to work on My ubuntu machine (BIG Thanks for the help on that one guys, patched version is building now) 2. Creating a .deb package 3. Creating a Windows .exe RPM will be a tough one because I haven't seen a Redhat desktop i...

Re: Host power abuse in isars cross

Actually the wesnoth community has historically not worked like that. Wesnoth has two communities. The one that comes to IRC and the boards is an open, friendly community. Then, there is the "other" community inside the game, on the server, where most admins don't go: Survivals, Orcia, Isar's, Rumb...

Re: Host power abuse in isars cross

I sometimes play games when I'm too tired and cranky and have no business being on the public server. While I certainly see the shades of gray in this example, and I appreciate the responses from everyone in this thread, I agree with kill here. I shouldn't have booted him, I should have just said th...

Re: Asking to re-introduce 1.6 lobby as an optional choice

I wasn't attempting to be clever. I was following the directions posted on the Wesnoth page for compiling on Ubuntu: http://wiki.wesnoth.org/CompilingWesnoth. It lists two options for downloading the files and doesn't say there is any difference between the two or even provide any comment at all. In...

Re: Asking to re-introduce 1.6 lobby as an optional choice

Ok, I broke out my geek translator for that one *Lol* My version of wesnoth is 1.8.0+svn (42038M) I followed the compile directions provided for Ubuntu and checked out wesnoth svn branch 1.8. From what your saying, I need to re-download wesnoth and ask for a different version? Do you have the SVN co...

Re: Asking to re-introduce 1.6 lobby as an optional choice

I uninstalled my SVN installed wesnoth using scons -c install. Then I ran gunzip old-lobby.patch.gz. Then I ran patch -p1 < old-lobby.patch. It seems there was a problem. I'm trying to install Wesnoth again to see what happens, but that's gunna be all night before it finishes on my old clunker. Any ...

Re: Request: new lobby icons

I realize this is probably 10 months late, but there is a lot of unused space in the new lobby. You could double the size of the icons and not over run your allowed space. Also, you could resort to a word in the case you can't clearly communicate with an icon. The word Fog with a line through it wou...

After match summery screen

Please add a screen at the end of a match that summarizes a match after it's over. Interesting things to see on the screen: Portrait of the winning leader. The result of a game. (I know Wesnoth doesn't current determine a result for most games, but this could be changed so that a winner could be dis...

Re: Add "Join Date" to players in the lobby

Wow thats awesome! What's the easiest way to run that each time someone joins my game? Is there a way short of recompiling my Wesnoth client?

Re: Give players reputation in the game lobby

Also chains, if you post any more idea proposals, this sort of line is an immediate turn off. Thanks for the feedback Gambit, I've edited my idea based on your input. @Zachron I struggled for a title for the thread for about half an hour, I'll see If I can come up with a better title. This is my fi...

Re: Give players reputation in the game lobby

I wouldn't call the ladders popularity overwhelming. I for one choose not to play it (though nothing to do with cheating). I would be annoyed if a ranking system (and forum registration) were required. I would also be annoyed if ranking were required. I did not post an idea about ranking systems or...

Re: Anti-Mirror match random.

A nice add on would be to reverse a side's alignment in a mirrior match. So one side plays lawful orcs and the other plays chaotic orcs. Sure it's complex to explain in an RPG but wesnoth isnt an RPG... its like when you play ken vs ken in Street Fighter, both ken's aren't red... sure they are the s...
