Campaign server UTF8 Error

Hi, I want to upload my era to the campaign server, but it crashes as soon as I accept the GPL message. I have Arch Linux 3.2.9 and 3.3.1, my brother has Ubuntu, I don't know the exact version, but all get the same problem, so I don't think it is architecture related. The only error message I get is...

Re: Ability depending on opponent and own weapon

That didn't work either. But it is a weapon special, not an ability, so that line shouldn't cause the problem. Here is what my code looks like: #define WEAPON_SPECIAL_DEATH_BLOW [dummy] id=death_blow name= _ "Death Blow" description= _ "Death Blow: If an enemy is already severely woun...

Re: Ability depending on opponent and own weapon

Yes, that is true and that sucks a little bit, but I expected that and so I assume I'll have to live with that. Or do you know any trick to make this work? By the way, I tested it and it didn't work. It is not an ability but a weapon special, so I put a [/specials][/attack] and [+attack][+specials] ...

Re: Configure add on path

Wow, ok, thanks a lot, I was looking for something like that. But I found out, my add-ons directory is .local/share/wesnoth/data/add-ons, so nothing unexpected, I was just used to the old location from the old versions and there some really strange things seem to have happened, but that was not real...

Re: Ability depending on opponent and own weapon

Very nice idea. I have no time to test it right now, but thanks a lot.

Ability depending on opponent and own weapon

Hi, I'd like to create an ability called "death blow". This should double the strength of a unit A if the enemy is almost killed, that is, if unit A could kill opponent B with two hits. The problem is, that I don't really know how to filter that. There are very good possibilities to filter...

Configure add on path

How do I find out where my add-on path is and how do I configure this? I know that it should be ~/.wesnoth1.8/data/add-ons but somehow it seems to be terribly misconfigured. When I installed the imperial era, it installed it into ~/.wesnoth1.8/data/add-ons/.wesnoth1.8/data/add-ons/Pirate_Attack/Impe...

Re: Era of Ilthan

I'm now pretty sure that at least some of you somehow downloaded the wrong file. It was downloaded 4 times and I think I downloaded it around 3 times for testing purposes. It is linked on the first side or here: Era_of_Ilthan-0.0.4.tar.gz

Re: Era of Ilthan

Hi, now the problem gets really strange! I downloaded it myself and tried the following: cat *.cfg **/*.cfg **/**/*.cfg | grep advanceto And it yielded only one row in the whole era and that one had the old AND the new version, so I assume that it was a mistake I did while merging files with git. Ev...

Re: Era of Ilthan

I have 1.8! I even checked the download on another computer since it is generated by a script which selects only the files needed for normal use. What errors did you get?

Re: Era of Ilthan

Ok thanks, we made it work now. We want to start doing more for the era again and so I made an overview on the first page as most era developers do, you can download it there, too. By the way, we use git for our development and think that this is a very good program if you want to develop an era wit...

Re: moving era to 1.8.2

Ok, thanks, the images now work. But do you know any era with good 1.8-like WML? Most eras I found were either rather old fashioned or had extremely terrible WML...

Re: moving era to 1.8.2

Ok, now we've reacted to lots of small WML changes and written a few scripts and now one can already start a game and play and it works except for some special rules. But the images are all invisible. Do you know the problem here? I tried to write the whole absolute part and every possble relative p...
