The middle plate should look like, it has been either riveted or nailed on to the wood.

Re: Ideas for a UI facelift

Ornamented borders is what the current theme lacks. So all borders you've done, are better then the current simple ones. :)
I like those, which garnish the two upper boxes of the sidebar.
For the buttons, slightly rounded corners look much better to me than plain squares.

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

that picture has no balance. You are right, due to the gems flat look. I have actually considered the flame inside the ruby myself already and rejected it for various reasons. One is that the flame is just plain too small, the sigil must be usable in very small sizes as well. Second reason is that ...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

As i said before, i'm not happy with the shape of the gemstone. So here is a ruby-like design, as i had it in mind, we could think about. No corona at the moment. The idea is, having the flames inside the gem. But doning this, means losing the round look of the gem. The perfekt stone should fit with...

Re: Cold terrain

The small drifts with the stone is the way to go, i think. The half moon is too big, and from the two cracked lines, only the lower one makes sense to me. So, small drifts with shorter blow aways and placed a bit more sporadic (i'm not sure, if some barrier like stones are necessary), and lower line...

Variations of snow tiles are a good idea, but what looks odd to me in the shot you posted, is the castle. Isn't it a summer residence in Siberia? Don't we need snow variations of the castles too?

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

To me the shape of the gem looks to much diamond-like. For a typical ruby shape i would prefer something like this:
ruby shape

Somehow i messed up with the url tags :?

Re: Castle-to-Water Transitions

I vote for the underwater castle foundations. They are cool. And don't we need those city buildings http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=287766#p287766 from Sgt. Groovy with underwater foundations too? Then we could build independent trading citys like old venice once was. ...maybe there is ...

Re: Tocharian's Terrain Wish List

I wan nothing less then a thoroughly nitpicked product. I have to redo the entire pillars completely anyways, and I'll remember that. If you redo the pillars, it wouldn't be hard to get rid of the black outlines, because somewhere on the wiki i've read, that "we want to move away from the black-out...

Re: Tocharian's Terrain Wish List

Nice to see, that someone is working on this :) We really are in lack of stone bridges. To me the light on both balustrades look different. The upper looks brighter while the south one looks darker. But they should be lighted similar. I fear you won't see any shadow casted by the balustrade on the N...

Re: Chasm Bridge

Mhh, sounds like we have to go the usual way, splitting the image in 72x72 and it's trans. If there is no other way round it's ok for me. But you're right, first thing to do is drawing all images as a whole layer and when this is done, we can go on finding a suitable solution for this transition iss...

Re: Chasm Bridge

Sure, but the current cfg file doesn't support corner tiles. My aim is to keep the set of images simple. That means for a layered bridge like this, images should'nt be limited to 72x72 and the max of images shouldn't be more then 3x5 plus 4 images. That makes 19 images. The 3x5 means, i want to have...

Re: Chasm Bridge

The picture shows the problem i run into. I currently use my own cfg file for this bridge. The pictures are layers and have no transitions. I want to keep the cfg file simple and splitting each layer in a 72x72 picture plus transitions pics would make things more complicated.
