Re: The Rise of Wesnoth: Cursed Isle
(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? 1.1.2a, medium (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 5 (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Completely misleading - kill the vampire queen? I did it because she was a distraction but ended up w...

I was just playing the South Guard campaign on the 2nd to last board (in that big cave) when one of those Trolls charged me. The dialogue started where I offered them peace through payment, but then the Troll took 3 swings at me (along wih 30 hp). He was my ally though so I couldn't fight back. Aft...

It works for me. It also keeps track of quits and the like. So you can see how much save-scumming people do. And it's a lot. (Compare the losses/quits for a campaign against the wins, or, look at an individual player's detailed statistics.) Given the ethos of Wesnoth about not save-loading, I think ...

And feel free to notice mistakes and omissions in the wiki Manual and either post them here or, even better, fix them up directly.
(Don't know that the Elvish Avenger is mentioned in the wiki Manual at the moment so that particular one can't be fixed in there at least.)

You can help with the multiplayer section of the manual
The current description of multiplayer play in the manual (Getting Started and Manual) isn't really up to date or comprehensive. It would be really great if those of you who know it backwards could wander over to the wiki and flesh out the Getting Started Guide and Improved Manual . Some sample ques...

It doesn't make sense to account for people doing things directly against the instructions given... Mistakes, yes, but when it says Recruit This and You Don't, you fail the scenario.... Or should. Consider, for example, the case of someone who doesn't know how to recruit units - just the kind of pl...

No one is obligated to supply you with a lite d/w. Free software is about giving people freedom and possibilities, not feed you everything with a silver spoon. Grow up. No one is obligated to do anything here - and yet they do. There is generally an attitude among developers that they would be happ...

No, the official release from the Wesnoth dev team is only the source code release and it should include everything that is mainline. Reducing quality of fx the music is a very bad way to go also. This is free software, anyone is free to package Wesnoth anyway they like as long as they comply with ...

Should we adopt a feature like this into Wesnoth for those who would prefer to do multiple smaller downloads? For myself I would say yes. As for quality - I wouldn't argue for lower quality for myself but suspect that a higher level of compression than standard music files is acceptable. The music,...

Discussion: 1. Python! Wow. Iwa is being prudent in including it, but it probably isn't necessary, is it? We're all supposed to have it. 2. UTBS: A lot of unit images are 20k. Have these been pngcrushed at all? 3. HTTT and TROW: there are some unnecessary images, and the rest can be shrunk down sig...
