Re: Standing and idle animations?

Gladly welcome your thoughts on the work so far. Oh... and greetings. Hi there! That animation is pretty neat. Differentiating the timing of the head-turning / torso-turning (head beginning to turn first) could make it seem more natural, but it's not a big issue. Also don't forget to add proper cha...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

I have introduced some movement into the tunic. Some "random movement just because" won't work, it was actually better without the tunic moving. It could benefit from some rotating of the head or torso but, being a zombie, the awkward stillness somehow suits him. The arm doesn't shake any...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

Better. Torso shifting over knees: fixed.

Shaky arm still wants to dance the hula-hula tho'
How do you change the speed of the replace on the individual frames in GIMP?
No idea, I've never used GIMP.

Re: Standing and idle animations?

There's an odd trembling during the first few frames of the animation, especially of his right arm (while he searches for the "food" with his left one), and a slight unjustified displacement of his upper body over his knees in the final frames. Overall it's too "shaky", even for ...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

A spitting orc would be very appropiate, both for an idle or a victory animation. It doesn't have to be too 'graphical' or disgusting (we have a sneezing naga already, and Jet and I managed to do pull it off well I think). And the "I'M KING KONG, BRING ME A BLONDE OR DIE!" move would also ...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

nice idea anyways for other units! to be a little more specific, how did you mean this now: victory, like, complete victtory or just the i kill a unit victory? I think they're both supported, and they would be the same animations, only difference being that the "I killed you" ones would p...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

These animations should transition back into the base frame - something like sheathing a sword wouldn't really work... Indeed, and I doubt an orc would bother to make a "you've been a worthy foe" gesture after killing his enemy. In my book that reads "honourable tribute". It doe...

Re: Standing and idle animations?

what about creating some really small animations when a unit kills another ? just for 1 or two, for starters, like a punch on ones chest ? You mean victory animations? I think I remember Boucman saying they are already supported, yes. :hmm: Hardly a priority, but tell you this, give me the name of ...

Well I see mostly a black square, courtesy of my burned out old monitor (soon to be replaced by an LCD), but you do look upset, so have a cookie. :)

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?

However, as a sci fi geek, I am extremely annoyed by the fact that the aliens weren't actually aliens. They're just tall blue indians, and there is no effort to disguise the fact. I don't care that it has the same plot as Runs with Wolves , I just wish they'd spent some of that $300 million creativ...

Re: Couple of questions from a newbie

Wesnoth's strategy is abstract, not realistic. Plays more like a board/card game than a wargame/war simulation. Look at it that way to prevent frustration.

Re: Bad manners?

It's being polite to apologize when, during a match or some sort of competition, things get your way due to luck instead of skill. For instance in tennis, when a shot hits the very border of the net, jumps it and drops just behind it (winning you a point because there's no way your opponent can reac...

Re: water animation

Man am I glad to see this... I've been -secretly- trying to do some water animatons and failed miserably with several different approaches, but this seems to be flowing in the right direction :) Thumbs up!
