Short piece
Something I wrote a couple of weeks ago. I'm very new to using a DAW, and sadly I seem to have hit day-three syndrome with it, so……if anyone with more experience would be willing to listen to this and point out a few of my mistakes, I would be most grateful. long URL If not not, forgive me for clutt...

And now it is: http://wiki.wesnoth.org/Tools_for_Creating_Music#Free_2
Interestingly, someone else added it moments before I hit "save." I wonder if they're reading this topic?

Re: Free Orchestral Soundfonts
Woah. This is way better than scrounging around Hammersounds trying to find links which aren't broken. Thanks! As a side note, you can use .sf2 files in Logic. Load them with the EXS24 sampler (place them in the Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments, select EXS24, double-click on the...

*regains composure* Oh yeah, looking at rock2, I can't seem to shake the feeling that it is composed of petrified bacon. Looks like hefen to me ;) These all look great, doofus! And, as I've said before many times, it's nice to see you still at this. As well as having free-standing boulders, maybe w...

Great work! Very nice to see you still around since I was last here, Sleepwalker. I would be inclined towards the one on the bottom, but maybe with the head from one of the less bright ones (or something in between)? It could just be me, but I sort of feel like he's standing in a light beam or somet...

And here I thought it was going to be about fleets of airships doing battle over a little girl with a goat! Just goes to show what I know. How are you planning to work the disasters in? Just as scripted events? Or maybe it could be interesting to have not just one or two scenarios be of the kind whe...

Re: The User Art Topic
Well that made for a very interesting read. And I found myself linking two people to that essay just in the past week! That's one of the things I like about these forums--although there is the usual level of noise and threads with nothing new to tell, every once in a while someone will post somethin...
Re: Hi.
I miss Irrevenant's avatar. It was one of the first things I remember about these forums, and I haven't seen it in a very long time.
Speaking of avatars, I've never been quite sure what the reason for putting the sights on the top of the gun is……

Re: Japanese translation help offer
As I understand it, the banner does refer to the flag--but it does seem a little odd that humans couldn't make it. I can't remember the context of the campaign, but maybe the flag itself is magical, and only the dwarves were capable of that kind of enchantment? 正しく分かっていれば「banner」旗の事です。でも、人間達は旗が自分で作れ...

@Anakayub: oh! And here I was going to ask if you were from the Philippines. Interesting to find another word which is shared between Tagalog and Malay (along with itu/ito, possibly selamat/salamat, lima/lima, etc). Though, I believe in Tagalog it would be "anak ng Ayub." Mine came from wh...

Re: [brainstorm] New Wesnoth Species?
I guess it's all down to the fact that new sentient species in modern fantasy are, in most cases, euphemisms for different human cultures…even if the creator doesn't realize. Take Tolkien--he did it, fully aware and within his intentions, and then everyone else followed suite. I think some number of...
