Re: What is the appeal of a rogue-like game?

For what it's worth, ADoM now has a very pretty tileset, so it's easier for less experienced rogue-like players to figure it out.

Re: Let's Play "Liberty"

Excellent job, and a fun read as well!

I'd suggest linking each new episode (of sorts) in the first post to provide an index for people who come by later and don't want to hunt for your posts.

Re: Unit Spamming as a Strategy

Hey Arnaldo that is very interesting feedback. I spammed spearman in the first scenario of Antor, Son of Rheor, as well as Elf Horseman and Troll Whelps in different scenarios in A Vision Blinded. I remember reading here that someone spammed Elf Shaman to beat a pretty tough scenario in wither LoW ...

Re: [mainline] Undead trait and healing

I can just see white mages summoning calcium out of nothing to fix undead units. I kinda like it. In my view of the situation, white mages aren't necessarily using 'holy' magic to heal people, just some magically applied biology and medicine. That could be used to help undead people too, as any impr...

Re: [mainline] White mage

I think you are missing a pretty big thing: the mage names aren't just how they are colored--it's a theme. So the red mage isn't actually wearing bright red, the white mage doesn't need to be wearing true white, and silver mages aren't necessarily literally wearing silver. I don't really see any imp...

Re: [mainline] "Shadow/Nightgaunt" rebalance

I dont deny that a whole undead fraction is balanced but this unit is not much. IMHO. I would say that you can't have it both ways. Either the faction is balanced, or it's not. If you change the unit, you change current balance. But there is a line between a deadly assasin and a suicide killer . Li...

Re: League of Legends - Season 3! (Was Season 2)

I am a great fan of the format, and I think series like these are actually gonna give the meta more chances at being stirred up. If all the matches were crammed into 1 week, people would be more likely to stick to what they know works match to match ^_^

Re: Ready Stance for Mage

Flame, this is the sort of thing that belongs in art workshop, at least until you get a bit more experienced at the pixel pushing. I'll leave the critique to those more recently versed w/ pixelart, but a few quick things: 1) long straight lines/tubes (the viewers' left sleeve) look unnatural and 'o...

Re: age of units

That is somethat that would fairly easy to make happen using wml, as you could just make a trait "elderly" that gave them -1 movespeed. However, I don't think that traits along that line will be implemented in the core game, as it would upset balance to add "negative" traits. Welcome to the Forums, ...

Re: Sleepwalker Animation Commissions WIP - Dwarves

Good thing they only have 1 attack--makes amazing animations like this feasible ^_^

The only comment I have is that the dragon head doesn't seem to maintain it's perspective the whole way through, but that *could* largely be a shading thing. Peanut Gallery Out!

Re: A New Order art

1 thing composition-wise that really bugs me is that the hammer somehow manages to be tangent with both her legs and the doorframe, which is very awkward to parse (and is just visually unappealing to me at least XD). Just changing any of the elements to break that tangent would fix the problem, and ...
