I've not developed Wesnoth myself so I understand it's a bit rich for me to make a suggestion.

That being said I've enjoyed Wesnoth since 1.14 and aware of Wesnoth's KISS design philosophy.

In the recent balance discussions there has been discussion of the arcane rework and the issue of arcane...

You are not incorrect, but personally I'd rather say that most factions should have some kind of magic unit.

Just finished the the stories Deceiver's Gambit and Ashevier's Dogs, one thing I am left wondering: how concurrent is the fall of Dwarven Doors to these events? Orcs are running rampant over Wesnoth, is this chaos contributing to the orcs then attacking Knalga, or have they done this by the time...

I played this campaign on Hard difficulty, and I really enjoyed it. 4 scenarios feels like a great length for a 1–2 days of co-op gameplay.

I found the final scenario to be the most difficult. I can't really decide which one is my favorite, but I think it might be the first, simply because its...

There is a weapon special 'consume' from ELE Fallen that works similarly in default games. Basically these units drain every unit of hit points; be it undead, mechanical, elemental etc. It can be very op, so the amount of hit points gained are lower than standard drain.
