Re: Temuchin Khan's maps - New and Updated
For those who are interested, I have been working on some interesting variations on the main Agaia map. I call it Agaia Redux. These changes significantly alter gameplay and add up to a whole new version. Stay tuned!

True, a Naga would probably be a better fit for the faction.Pentarctagon wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 12:34 amMaking the new unit be a good fit is really what I think the main goal should be. If it's also really unique and different, then great, but fitting into the faction takes precedence, at least in my mind.

Re: Dunefolk balancing rework ideas - discussion.
A Naga unit for the DF is not a bad fit though it is not unique or clever either. If you want something more unique, check out my suggestion of the Dandan fish--straight from the Arabian Nights. Actually, if you ask me, the Dandan fish sounds a lot like a Killer Whale. That, surely, would be a uniq...

Re: Dunefolk balancing rework ideas - discussion.
Taking a look at this thread, I agree that a Jinn or a Naga would work for water control in a Middle Eastern-themed faction like this. However, I wanted to mention a few other possibilities, straight from the Arabian Nights. The story of Abdullah the Fisherman is about a man who captures a Merman wh...

Re: Eastern Europe at War (EEaW) - 2.1 for 1.14!
[*] Some of the leaders (I remember the Tartars and Ukrainians specifically) get killed quite quickly if played by the AI. AFAICS in case of the Ukrainians this might be an effect of the position of the Keep in Kiev This is definitely true. In fact, in my experience, whenever I play against the AI ...

Re: Eagle's combined MP modifications thread
Sorry for replying so late. I somehow did not see your post until now.... Also i have just realized how extremely unintuitive all of this is. So feel free to suggest on how it could be remade so that it would be clear to the player. Thank you. I get it now. As for how to make it more intuitive, I'm...

Re: Eagle's combined MP modifications thread
I have tried several of your multiplayer modifications. These seem to work properly for me: Assimilation Mod Spoils of War Zombie Randomizer These, however, never seem to work for me: Raze and Rebuild Expendable Leaders Shipbuilding Mod The problem is always the same. Somehow, nothing appropriate to...

Re: chicken or the Orc?
I have this uncanny suspicion that this thread is going to get me into trouble, but I just have to ask. Which came first? Heir to the Throne Campaign or In the Name of the King (Uwe Bhol movie)? the similarities are too many to suggest coincidence. What similarities? As far as I can tell, the only ...

Re: Eagle_11's combined MP Factions thread
Yes, keep the Grenadier as it is. Even making the grenade a melee attack rather than a ranged attack sort of makes sense, since you can't throw a grenade as far as you can fire an arrow.

Re: Eagle_11's combined MP Factions thread
Hello, Eagle 11. Nice job on your version of the Dunefolk. I like that the Grenadier is more historically accurate than its mainline alternative. I also like the Athvari--assuming the Dunefolk once had mages, an order like the Athavari makes sense. And them going underground and becoming a secret so...
Re: Hey there
Hello, JW. I'm still around, sometimes. These days, I mostly make maps. See the link in my signature.
Aside from that, I just finished law school and will be taking the Florida Bar the week after next. Wish me luck!

Eastern Europe at War has a good map of Eastern Europe. And I made a map of Morocco: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=35053
I think there are a few other ones, but those are the ones I know best.

I must say, I like skeptical troll's description, too. It seems to hit all the right notes, while maintaining an air of mystery and leaving the details to the player's imagination. Good work, skeptical troll!
