Re: ROBOT UNICORN ATTACK

I am eerily attracted to the game's music. I don't know what it is, but its like there's this hypnotizing effect and I start thinking of magical rainbows in a fantasy utopia...

Re: Hero of Allacrost - RPG project with well-developed engine

We have a new release of the game available today. Unlike our past internal releases, this one we are making publicly available to everyone. We call it an "unstable" release because its basically a development snapshot, but its totally playable and gives you a great sense of where we're a...

Re: Hero of Allacrost - RPG project with well-developed engine

Hah! That's a very common problem, you know. Warzone has the same problem. 5 active Linux developers, 2 active Mac developers, and a Windows developer that's available 2 days a month. We cross-compile the Windows installer on Linux, but it's all rather silly. I guess people who like to develop soft...

Re: Hero of Allacrost - RPG project with well-developed engine

There's a very strong likelihood that next month we'll have an internal release of the game in progress to our forum members. That would be a great chance for artists to actually play the game and see for themselves what art we are missing and where. Either rujasu or I will post here when that inter...

I think as long as you keep the images that you borrow from Wesnoth under a GPL license, and make sure that you keep an explicit list of which images are GPL-ed, then it doesn't matter what your other media and code is licensed under. There's a lot of non-GPL code out there that uses GPL or LGPL cod...

I'm not sure, but I think its only i386. The game can most certainly run on PPC Debian, but I don't think this package supports it yet. I think we should try and get Allacrost in the official Debian repositories sometime soon here.

I am an ubuntu user and I use my ubuntu machine to develop for Allacrost half the time. The .deb package won't work for Ubuntu because that package is meant for Debian unstable, which has a different libc version than Feisty Fawn. What you have to do is install it from source, and you'll also need t...

We released our demo last night. Go to our website to download it and check it out. A lot of Wesnoth people have contributed large amounts of work to this release too. :)

Hero of Allacrost -- New Demo Released (0.2.0)

Its been a while since I last talked about Allacrost on this forum (previous discussion here and here ). We're on the verge of reaching another major milestone, and as proof we have some new screenshots that we released earlier this morning, as well as a second release of our demo on the way. Screen...

The manual is on our wiki here, or there is a MANUAL file that should have been in the package that you downloaded. You can enable/disable random encounters with the 'a' key, so you probably accidentally hit this key and hence you can't encounter battles unless you hit it again. http://allacrost.sou...

There is no mouse input in Allacrost, so the cursor is hidden in the window. The 'f' key is the confirm command, and the 'd' key is the cancel command. Yes, I know its not very intuitive, but that's how it is. Since everyone I've talked to agree that this is completely unintuitive, why not change i...

Now you don't have to wait any longer. 8) We made our first demo release public tonight (if you were a member of our forums, you could have spent the last two weeks testing it ;) ). The demo itself is pretty simplistic and honestly isn't much fun, but we all have to start somewhere! Head over to our...

Hence why we are pushing this demo out early (despite missing a lot of artwork and features), as one of our primary motivations is to grab the interest of new potential artists to help out. Don't forget an Os X binary. I'd estimate that about half of the artists that have made significant art contr...

I wonder, did a significant part of the core Allacrost developers already know each other before starting the project? That might help explain how they pulled it off so far. Nope. :) There is only one person on our team that I knew (in real life) before Allacrost got started. Well, my understanding...
