This seems close enough to the AMLA part of Loti Modification.
In this mod, max lvl units can choose btw several AMLA, not limited to increased damage, increase number of strikes with worse damage or decreased number of strike with huge damage boost, for each attack, 1 more MP, better resistances ...

You should replay The South Guard then.The wiki specifically states that's only possible for an elf. I'm not aware of any example of any elven necromancer.
