Re: Hotkeys for Movements / Mouse Interaction
So I read some of the comment regarding hint based UI. From what I read there are good ideas, but it needs a bit more polish. Without going to possible advance use of hint, hint could be an easy way to emulate a mouse and give the keyboard a way to 'jump' from one tile to another. In that regard I s...

Re: Hotkeys for Movements / Mouse Interaction
Hint-based navigation similar to what is done in Qutebrowser or Vimium are quite efficient to jump from one point to another with the keyboard. Something like that : https://qutebrowser.org/doc/img/hints.png It would give the possibility to select tooltips too, but, that solution is not very accessi...

Re: Battle for wesnoth.... ascii terminal
The problem is that Wesnoth has hexagonal tiles, while the terminal has square (or rectangular) tiles.
So this would not be easy to render nicely in the terminal like other roguelike game are.
But, I agree that would be nice to play the game in a terminal.

Re: Captured by a Nightmare: SP Campaign for 1.14
Here it is : https://ufile.io/zv8ahc2v End the turn so that the dwarfs can attack your hero. As it happens, the problem actually comes from the shaman special ability (-25% less damage for allied), because the main hero disappears too when he is next to the shaman. Does not seems to happens for the ...

Re: Captured by a Nightmare: SP Campaign for 1.14
Nice campaign so far. Some remarks. When the merfolk leaders die in the scenario where we help the nagas, they speak in cyrilik instead of english. In the nightmare after the wolf race, in the cave, where the water is flowing, the goblin rider hero keeps popping out of existence when getting hit (so...

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.0 — New Horizons Update
On a side note, I'd be really curious to see how the steam release impacted the player base for Wesnoth.
If you could crunch some statistics about that in like a month, it would be sweet !

Re: Can I turn off some visual effect?
I'm not sure the performance impact for small computer configuration is clear enough for this water animation in the preference menu. I think it should indicate directly in the description that this could be slow and not only in the tooltip. Another option would be to create a performance slider (lo...

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.0 — New Horizons Update
Additionally for Win10: When playing in fullscreen mode, pressing the "windows"-key doesn't show the desktop, but wesnoth is always in the background, strange behaviour, never seen something like that before with no program. Don't know, how to explain.. While wesnoth is in fullscreen, i h...

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.0 — New Horizons Update
Good job ! Very nice to see Wesnoth moving forward like that. Now, a bit of feedback on the new version. I guess the new UI need some time to get used to, however there are a few issues with it that I don't think is due to its novelty. The main issue that I have is that everything is so damn BIG. Bu...
