Re: How to kill a Yeti without taking 1 hp of damage.

Ah, yes, you're right. Misremembered him to have melee poison. So yeah, it's in fact equally distributed. Each one level1 and one additional level3 unit for melee and ranged.

Re: How to kill a Yeti without taking 1 hp of damage.

I believe more factions have ranged poison than melee poison. Actually, I think that's not true, at least with Default Era. Ranged poison: Orcish Assassin (and levelups) Melee poison: Ghoul (and levelups), Direwolf Rider, (Outlaw) Assassin Not counting critters here, because they aren't in any fact...

Regarding the replays's directory, it seems be directed for multiplayer matches. There is any similar one for campaings?
In the Gameplay Feedback section here in the forum people often add replays, when they're reviewing scenarios.

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

Not-so-fancy skills like steadfast with low blade and impact resistances or an additional move shouldn't break a campaign too much though. Maybe, maybe not. But why? In your last contribution you were concerned, that the lvl3 javelineer would be too much better than the ranger, and now you want to ...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

A rather similar unit to the hypotetical lv3 Javelineer is the Ranger (lv3 poacher): I think these two units should be roughly comparable, since they both have balanced melee and ranged attack strengths. The difference is of course the excellent mobility and defence that the Ranger enjoys, but comp...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

For example, this L3 unit may be phalanx/testudo inspired and have the steadfast ability, Hmm, storywise I like the idea, but unfortunately the way steadfast works doesn't make it that easy. Steadfast doubles resistances, but javelineers don't have any against impact, blade, fire and cold, and doub...

How about healthy? Is it cumulative with rest and/or healing?
According to the description, healthy units "rest", even when they're not really resting aka. always. So it's cumulative with healing but not with resting because it *is* resting.

Re: Healers can only heal 18 HP total for all adj. units?

Multiple healers will still not stack. Only thing that stacks is rest healing and a unit can be healed by multiple healers from different sides. And healing and regeneration doesn't stack either, right? The question is, does regeneration prevent healing, or does the higher number count? In the Defa...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

If I was rebalancing the game, I'd give Javelineers skirmisher and ranged marksmen to give them a role in hunting down low-health enemies. Not a bad idea. I like the part with the skirmisher, since spearthrowers were historically often used as skirmishers IIRC. A different idea to make the Javeline...

1. this post is about removing campaigns - https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51139 2. yes, the bottom 50% of campaigns should be removed 3. there are surveys and stuff on the web about which is the best wesnoth campaigns, and the bottom 50% should be removed as they detract from a qual...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

I disagree that javelineers are particularly useful for defending. In case of a doubt, opponents would just target other units in a defensive line, so you would have to have a whole line of them, which you probably won't have. One could argue that as a "special defensive unit" you could use them on ...

Re: Installing the campaigns

Usually the wesnoth meta-package should've drawn in all campaign packages automatically. Probably you've just installed the core package. The default Ubuntu Software Center, or how it's called, is sometimes a little bit weird. Just use synaptic, search for wesnoth and install everything that shows u...

Re: New Player - Feedback & Small Questions

It's okay. It's not like I want things to be overpowered and easy. But it is a bit frustrating to have to send elvish shamans into the fray, they are so weak it's really hard to get kills with them! It's a little bit tricky, but not really hard. Just takes a little bit of practice. If you stay in t...

Re: What mainline campaigns are high quality?

Tough question, because it's kinda difficult to define what 'quality' is. IMO none of the mainline campaigns is really bad and lacks quality at all. They're often just serving different purposes. Before getting into detail, I wanna point out that I personally favor short to medium-sized campaigns mu...
