Re: Beyond the Watcher's Horizon [SP Campaign] - WIP

I check the forum only every couple of weeks, what luck to find this posted! S11 - Moderately easy level, very doable on the first try. But I had to replay it as it wasn't clear to me at the start that one of the objectives was to block enemies from reaching 45,16. It might be good to mention it bet...

Re: Beyond the Watcher's Horizon [SP Campaign] - WIP

Dang it, I hoped the notes were sufficient to explain it. Maybe I should add some practical application in the first scenario, as also Konrad suggested. It's also a nice idea to add some reward here and there, maybe some flavour dialog by Qilah with more history trivia. Yes good idea. I probably mi...

Re: Beyond the Watcher's Horizon [SP Campaign] - WIP

Aaaand two more scenarios are out, together with several minor fixes/improvements on previous scenarios here and there! Opinions on S9 are especially welcome since it's somewhat experimental. Those last couple of scenarios are brilliant. Very creative ideas that again show how Wesnoth can be re-inv...

Re: Beyond the Watcher's Horizon [SP Campaign] - WIP

If you're talking about Khafir's necklace, back then Taptap convinced me that it was an unnecessarily violent and unstylish method for a king and that his power and charisma would be enough. Ah? Maybe. I thought it lent a lot of drama to the story. Khafir obeys, then disobeys, then is forced to obe...

Re: Beyond the Watcher's Horizon [SP Campaign] - WIP

Hi skeptical_troll! Totally psyched to see you produce another story with Khafir. As usual, varied challenges, great storyline, lots of intrigue. Can't wait for the rest. I do have to say, your dialogue skills seem to have become richer over the years, with more emotional depth. I remember having ma...

Re: An Orcish Might | 5 Scenario Singleplayer campaign 1.18

Ah! Sorry, I deleted the replays. But maybe it was boring because I am a boring player? I have played for many years and I know what to expect from the enemy AI. So I do my order of battle in such a way that losses are minimized and odds are on my side. It makes for a "wall of crunch" that...

Re: An Orcish Might | 5 Scenario Singleplayer campaign 1.18

Hello! Just finished the campaign, very interesting and fun. Didn't run into any bugs, here are my general impressions. Most scenarios had a feeling of being very strongly designed and playtested. Beautiful terrain, great tactical challenges, especially with the changing objectives. Really a lot of ...

Re: Wesnoth Creepypasta--Loyalist Campaign (9 Scenarios) Now on 1.18

Okay, so there were actually several more 'final' levels. Pretty amazing! Thanks for the great writing and engrossing storyline. Now that I think about it, the battles were so-so tactically speaking, but the story was so captivating that it didn't matter! Just goes to show how enthralling deep musin...

Re: Wesnoth Creepypasta--Loyalist Campaign (9 Scenarios) Now on 1.18

Wow, this was a really interesting experience. The meta commentary was so engrossing that when I got to the final scenario, I found it all too depressing to play. That is, until I read this thread and discovered that it's all a fictional story, haha! So okay, I'll give that final scenario a shot. Me...

Re: In Hearth of Durn-Turum - dwarvish SP/MP campaign!

Yes you really did succeed. I agree that each race has a "classical style" and that scenarios written along those lines are more immediately believable and engaging. It can be fun (and disturbing) when a race is forced to operate on difficult ground. But too much of this and then, like you...

Re: In Hearth of Durn-Turum - dwarvish SP/MP campaign!

Just finished this campaign. It is so well designed for a dwarf campaign! Dungeon crawling. Ressource collecting. Those classic enemies, trolls and elves. The scenarios were very well balanced, always a little bit tough, never impossible. The campaign is not too long and ends with a great climactic ...

Re: The Rootless

What a fun campaign. Has it all - big battles, heroes, dungeon crawl, an apocalyptic ending. But what's this... a bonus scenario... and a warning from Anekron, that I might yet regret playing this campaign. Pish posh, bring on ze challenge! We'll see who has the last laugh! Here we go... let's move ...

Re: In Defense of Kharos

Hello, just to say that I enjoyed this campaign very much. I found the first and second scenarios to be excellent challenges, and then the subsequent scenarios much easier. White Warriors seem a little bit overpowered, with their cheap cost, 60% defense on flat terrain and strong sword attack. Hydra...

Thanks for the tips, I'll update and start over! Yes, short and fun campaign. I'm not one for heavy dialogue but I really enjoyed the poetic passages. Great work!

Re: Waves of Distant Shore - Campaign

I'm stuck on the final scenario, turn 14, the tower at 16,5 is not accessible to anyone :(

Also, what is a Holy Brother? Did I miss something on an earlier level?
