### Re: Better Odds

I fully agree. What worries me most is that finishing a unit with 1/2 against 60s and 1/3 against 70s might become too easy. Then blocking becomes meaningless in such instances because you then can three way such a piece easily. yeah should have been 0.4*0.28 = 0.112. because it is 20*0.6. It was a ...

### Re: Better Odds

Yes, it might be better to switch this off by default... And add a longer description to explain exactly what the benefits and disadvantages of it are. Hi, ok. I give you an example of how it changes the game mechanics: You plan a move lets say you must shoot down something from a mountain as dwarf...

### Re: Better Odds

hi, as I wrote to you in-game please implement the following: The formula is for round k : chance_to_hit(k) +(-)= mod. where mod is a constant. In short: You calc a modifier at the beginning of the battle. The const calcs to: mod = base*chance_to_hit = base*(1- terr_def) . Pseudocode: const double m...

### Re: Who is the best Wesnoth player ever?

Playing against the AI on big maps is something completely different than playing humans on maps, whose difficulty can be hardly estimated by someone who is obviously not a top tier player on Isar. So what are we talking about - at all? That it doesn't require "any skill" - while defeating an ...

I would have mentioned him, but since he usually plays 3 games simultaneously you can guess how he performs sometimes

### Re: buddh's Isar Guide

Thx that's nice to hear. :) You're welcome. Always appreciate new Isar players 8) . That's why I wrote the guide, in order to minimize frustration for beginners, because the community tends to be a bit harsh after all. I should do the changes soon for the namespace. I just havent found the time late...

### Re: Who is the best Wesnoth player ever?

I think you have to be a little more specific. Maybe there is a best player ever when it comes to 1v1. I would not know, because I do not compete in those. So I stick to Isar, which imho is the real competition here. There definitely are some really strong Isar players. And when it comes to this, Be...

### Re: Long Isar - interesting game (aka Dharo's Epic)

actually I just look here once or twice a month best. Edit Note: I don't want to sound too aggressive. But actually I think a player of your level should be above the need to talk down the accomplishments of others, in this case, Dharokan. Ofc there have been longer games, it is not only about the l...

### Long Isar - interesting game (aka Dharo's Epic)

Hi, we just played a fish gambit on Isar and I think this game is rather remarkable in some points when it comes to strategy and compensating for failure in the early opening stages/early middle game, in this case fish slaughter and failed attempt to kill the adept (0/6). buddh (Loyals, Pikeman) - l...

### buddh's Isar Guide

Hi guys, I decided to write my own Isar guide for people to improve their skill on the map. The one made by ElderofZion can be read here: (https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44241). I will try not to repeat him so I give you the link for more information. :eng: I will use the same struct...
