Re: Wesnoth pc crash

Are you running an AMD chipset? There's some discussion about this problem. You might do some research but it looks to me like the BIOS has an option ("currently unavailable"?) called "fast restart" or something like that. The consensus seems to be that disabling this BIOS feature, shutting down, po...

Re: Multi-condition event: units alive x and after turn x

The wiki is the wrong place to look. If you check, you'll probably find examples similar to what you need someplace the mainline scenario. What I see you asking for is how to encourage the player to win in 10 turns or less because, at 11 turns a new wave will arrive. And, yes, I'm pretty sure I've s...

Re: Do healing on turn 1

Sounds like a bug. Side 1 (player) moves. Side 2 Turn 1 damages Side 1 (player). Side 3 Turn 1 (Player ally) should be able to heal side 1 (player).

Re: game crashes at the end of scenario

Might be a 1.12 problem. But Legend of the Invincibles is add-on content, and you're talking about it failing on Ubuntu Studio but not on "another PC" so I'm thinking there's little we could help with even if we're willing to dig into 1.12 since it sounds like a problem for the PPA maintainer, if no...

Probably not. Since there will probably always be breaking changes to the scripting language it will probably remain side-by-side installs forever.

Good recognizer, lousy generator. That probably answers why we're not "with it" .. we like junk to work and not cause infinite loops or other silliness.

Re: Saving recall list for others scenarios?

Use one large recall list which has both. Then read up on [filter_recall]. In one campaign I had two (or was it three) leaders which shifted on and off stage, and were possibly all on-stage at once. The original code was pull in all important units and save then in a variable, then replace the recal...

Re: install wesnoth version on Linux Centos 6.5

Please ask a specific question. What is failing, what have you tried, what error message are you getting. Another topic this morning had an issue compiling on a more-recent version of CentOS, so a wild-ass guess would be you need to upgrade your system or some of its components. But that's a WILD gu...

Looks like Boost 1.53 is too old. Upgrading to something more recent should help.

Re: Have a promble with installation wesnoth-1.14.4. Ubuntu

Reading, we see the error is: /usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-ld: cannot find -lpthreads So you're missing a library. Pasting that into Google, and adding Ubuntu, quickly yields: https://askubuntu.com/questions/453860/unable-to-locate-package-pthread Which tells you to install it using: sudo apt-get insta...

language clarification: having nothing in the server logs is consistent with a report of connection failures.

Re: 1.14.3/4 MP server login error && Add-ons repo access error

The other possibility, which I discounted because you said you're using 1.14.3 and 1.14.4, is that you're using an ancient version. The MP server actually uses a number of ports. Which one is based upon the specific version of Wesnoth you're running. When you connect with an old version, the MP serv...

Re: 1.14.3/4 MP server login error && Add-ons repo access error

The client software on your computer does NOT communicate with the Forums to authenticate on the Multiplayer server. The requirement is that you have a Forum account, and that you provide the MP server (via your client) with the username and password for that Forum account. The MP server verifies th...

Re: 1.14.3/4 MP server login error && Add-ons repo access error

Pinging only says you can get a packet from here to there. A proxy can still step in the way on the actual transfers and a firewall can still block access to the required ports.

I tested here on Arch and cannot reproduce a similar issue.
