Re: Legend of the Invincibles

@sakura006: a) I am not sure how exactly Legacy works, as most times, units have it before they reach max level, but sometimes they don't. At the latest, the Legacy is added when advancing to max level (it might be that it gets added at first level up - too lazy to check right now). About the Legacy...

Re: Preferred Fate of the Dunefolk (formerly Khalifate)?

Round and round and round it goes, where it stops - nobody knows. Re: topic Voted include, but I'd prefer them to be solidly integrated into the game world beforehand. Drakes show up in a lot of campaigns, but the Dunefolk are nowhere and a cameo won't solve this. A new campaign would probably be th...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

@lhaire: I did not want to imply that those legacies are necessary to make it through hard, I just wanted to say that their power is especially strong there, albeit somewhat obscured (because passive resistances are never that noticable). I think with the right items you can make a unit work regardl...

Re: Alariel's Journey: A Faerie Tale 1.0.2 (SP for 1.12)

Hey FaeLord, thanks for this awesome campaign! I had a great evening playing through this lighthearted, playful fairy tail (I played on easy to just enjoy the story)! Especially the humour worked really well for me, I had some good chuckles. This might be the best story telling I encountered in Wesn...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

3. My favourite legacy by far is Legacy of the Free (extremely powerful with champion bowman, elvish assassins, and dwarf technocrats). My least favourite legacies are Legacy of Titans and Legacy of Phoenix. For Legacy of Titans, I think either bigger damage bonuses or better regeneration would be ...

Re: [mainline] Changing the Dunefolk's(Khalifate's) race nam

Cold Steel, I'm really not sure, if I should admire your dedication or be annoyed by your singlemindedness :D 1. Wesnoth's world is biologically diverse. 2. Dunefolk already have a non-human move type and defense type. 3. Dunefolk are the only faction where one race uses multiple alignments. 4. The ...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Uhm, no idea what got you so riled up? The two by far most popular options Dunefolk and Southerners are completely free of any implications about the culture, infrastructure and rulign format of the faction!? Also, to remind you of this gem: I would say that there are a number of examples throughout...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

I think those work well. For the sake of discussion, I'd like to throw another option into the mix: Some people argued that they like the current unit names and don't think it's too much of a hurdle. I'm not one of those and it took me a whole campaign to get somewhat used to what name represents wh...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Voted Dunefolk and Nomads . For one thing, the fantasy of a nomadic people with a constant capital as described by mintleaf sounds awesome to me and for previously stated reasons I don't like a lot of the suggestions: - our world ties - cementing the ruling structure offhandedly by faction name inst...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Hey Cold Steel, as always, it seems we have very different views on things, welcome to the discussion :D 1. Almost exclusively human. (mermish and falcon are only exceptions) 2. Almost exclusively history rather than mythology inspired and mundane. (mage is only exception and a small exception) 3. M...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Whiskeyjack, what do you think of my idea that we split off the anti-magic and monotheism to a larger, more established and settled faction that exists in the arid but fertile southlands? They would be the ones to take the set of backstory themes which the Khalifate have now — improving, embellishi...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

As always: Let me speak the cautioning, conservative voice. I am currently missing Sand Kingdom and Southern Kingdom on the front page, though I'd always take the plural Kingdoms in those cases. Also: Why did the Xalıdı turn into Xalid , dropping the last character (I also actually liked the version...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

It would be nice for me to know, how many turns I have to save for Belzebub :-) ALso I d like to know, if those turns save up, when I fill amount... Like I need 120 turns, and I finis scenario 150turns early, where will those 30 truns go? It's a simple variable that counts up. You have to save 500 ...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Getting some errors while playing chapter 10. Vritara and Krux loose all level ups I got in chapter 8 which is kinda sad. Krux ability to burn foes won't increase from 24. In the "unit description" it lists burn foes (24) and burn foes (40) after upgrading via gained experience, however only damage...

Re: Let's (try to) expand the great continent!

I didn't know this piece of info. This does bring clarity on the scaling issue and now with your projection the great continents size does seem believable. But then its strange how little land has been colonized in all the years of the kingdom, not just by the humans but by all known races. Europe ...
