Re: Wesnoth source in 2 parts

Also, if you are just interested in just the Lua or WML, you already have all that from the release package and don't need to download the source kit. I need the cpp source files which build the 'ai' (and also 'wesnoth') lua tables (used as modules). Not that I'm pleased to have and "decode" cpp co...

Wesnoth source in 2 parts

Hello, I have Wesnoth 1.14 installed from (Linux) binaries. But I also want the source to explore the Lua 'ai' functions (most are not explained on the wiki, like the funnily named 'dstcrc' ???). However, the download from sourceforge delivers a package in 2 parts, whatever mirror I choose (the seco...

Labels are part of scenario. Map is not aware of them.
Thank you, Ravanna.
(But the editor still has a desactivated "label" tool.)

Re: Help with testing Fred - Freelands MP Custom AI v0.14.11

Hello @mattsc, For some reason I had not seen your reply here, just checked now (before addressing the question in our other exchange thread). I have some more reflexions on the topic and want to insist or make clearer the core principle "better than average": it is really different from "positive ...

Re: Crin of Crenlyn

Thank you josteph. Well, changes have been so important from 1.12 to 1.14... There are certainly very very few chances for the campaign to work as is, too bad (and I won't have a double install of Wesnoth just for that). Edit: I checked nevertheless: seems to work on W1.14, scenario 1 loads & starts...

Re: map editor help or tutorial

Another question: is it possible to add labels or other text on the map, directly from the map editor (instead of from the scenario through WML code)? The corresponding button in the editor seems desactivated (greyed, and does nothing I can notice). Thank you, diniz PS: I figured how to fill areas. ...

Re: Grnk the Mighty: Parts 1 & 2 now on 1.12 and 1.14 server

That seems about right, except for some minor details. The main difference seems to be that I am apparently playing more defensively than you. You use the word "assault". I do no such thing. I just move everybody (as a group) as fast as possible toward the current goal (incl. Rutburt toward the sec...

Re: The Rising Underworld

Hello Samonella, I restart playing TRU and (apart from all being a little easier indeed) I intuitively noted some changes. I ask because coming back to this thread I cannot find information about significant updates (your last post is a reply to mine). But I do at times update add-ons, so if you pub...

Re: Grnk the Mighty: Parts 1 & 2 now on 1.12 and 1.14 server

Thank you again for your reply. So, I passed it all right, twice in fact, even if the flight is not that easy: I have to count on leveling (2-3) and sacrifice recruits (2), fortunately I had enough. I guess everyone recruits 2x3 units at startup? Just for info, how I deal: I recruit twice one unit o...

Re: Grnk the Mighty: Parts 1 & 2 now on 1.12 and 1.14 server

Thank you very much for your nice and complete answer. Actually, I played and passed it some hours ago, now well using the fact that guards just don't move. I thus also discovered that I was wrong about Grnk's mysterious ability (the spoiler section above) that was evoked somewhere in this thread: G...

Re: Grnk the Mighty: Parts 1 & 2 now on 1.12 and 1.14 server

Hello @mattsc! I have tried several times to pass S3 Treasure (on Challenging diff I guess) and actually managed to do it the second time (first time not quick enough), albeit as my further attempts retrospectively showed, only with several amounts of sheer luck: On initial attack (see below) and co...

Is this campaign still developped? Where can we find it (not on the 1.14 server)?

Re: Lua error: cannot find ai.move_full (but finds & calls other func in 'ai')

Hello @mattsc, Thank you for your reply. In the meantime I have passed to something else to explore; and right now cannot give much time to this issue. Anyway, I am learning how to do micro AIs, albeit still at a very early stage with a single & simple CA added to the mainloop. I took inspiration fr...

Re: A Little Adventure (SP campaign for 1.14)

Hello @Argesilao, I definitely support the point of view of @otzenpunk. I would describe myself as a player similarly to him in terms of level or experience. I only play on easy difficulty campaigns termed for experts which really look hard to me for various reasons (including big changes in game me...

Seems Shadows of Deception is not (yet) ported to 1.14?
