For the record, you don't need to use Lua in a custom macro to clear the variable, you can just use {CLEAR_VARIABLE find_string}.

That just makes me wonder who wrote the previous description, because "when one has made common cause with a skilled javelineer on its back" does not, to me, sound like a natural English sentence. I can tease out the meaning, sure, but it's a strange phrasing.

The main thing I notice about the nice Nym portrait is that her hair seems to be completely hidden, which means the sprite's hair can be whatever colour we want (eg red)!

Unless there's a hint of hair showing around the border of the headgear; I didn't really look closely.

In order to use WFL code in this context, you need to enclose the entire formula in parentheses. It's also strongly recommended to enclose the whole thing in double quotes, since not doing so will result in the + sign being parsed out by the WML, which means WFL will raise a syntax error. It used to increase by 8, but I reduced it at some point and forgot to update the description. I've already fixed this in my copy, so it'll be correct when I release on the 1.14 addons server.

I can't tell if some of those top sprites are supposed to be Nym or if they're all Kaleh. For Nym I do prefer long hair (and thus prefer Jetrel's sprite at least for the head), plus I think it would be cool if her hair were a different colour (red maybe?), though obviously that would have to be coor...

I don't think anyone has given much thought to planning the redesigned theme UI yet. One thing I'd like to do (not sure if it'll happen) is use more icons for things such as weapon ranges and such (the name of the range would become a tooltip in that case). This should also let it take up less space...
