Re: Portraits for Coming of the Storm. WIP.
Something in her face puts me off. I think it's the right (our right) side of her lower jaw.

Re: A New Order art
I love that red tattoo (or whatever it is) thing on his lower jaw. Maybe have more of it on his face or head?
He is truly not menacing enough. How about making his gaze more focused and intense instead of vacant? And maybe give him a more evil sneer.

Agreed. Not to mention that this headgear adds some evil points to the image.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Well, she's a queen, she's supposed to wear opulent and unwieldy accessories. :D Neck seems to be fixed and longer face suits her better overall, imo. I wouldn't mind the crown to look a bit finer and fancier, but it's just a matter of taste really. I think Asheverie is turning out wonderfully. You'...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
A few things while you're at it! Do you think her face could be made a bit more attractive? She looks like a hag, but she used to be good looking in her youth and she is incredibly vain, so I'd think she'd do anything to preserve her looks. I'd compare her to the Queen from Snowwhite. Face that stil...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
I think the new Delfador is fantastic, LordBob. All your mages so far were absolutely brilliant concept-wise and detail-wise. But what about adding some mental concentration to the action pose? In current pose he looks like a martial artist in his combat stance, rather than a powerful arcanist. Mage...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Meh. What I didn't like with pose #2 is that it shows less character than #1 and doesn't face the viewer at all. But I do agree, on a second look it's more priest-like than #1. As for his personanality I wouldn't know, but it takes some guts to go all alone wandering in the wilds, plus you don't me...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
#1 does not look like a man who received much education in his days. His poise does not suggest he is a wandering scholar with strong personality, he rather resembles a ruffian or village militiaman. #2 in my opinion has a better matching face. His poise is that of an obvious martial cleric, is that...

Re: Three wise magi
These guys are cool. But they look like they're from a completely different game. Wesnoth has a certain style (which i've personally grown to love a lot), so you have to conform to it or change all the other sprites to maintain art consistency.

That's the most goofy dragon i've ever seen.
This all looks like a wicked practical joke to me.

I'm with Kanzil here.Kanzil wrote:Personally, I actually thought the first portrait's expression was perfect- defiant , proud, aloof, exactly as I'd imagine an elf.
Also thought that portrait was really stylish.

Concerning woses.. Do their eyes have to be made of gems/resin? Did you think of maybe making two holes mysteriously glowing from within?

At least this one looks like a seasoned mercenary.
Eye-patch kinda adds bonus badassery points.
