Re: A brief update on faction Guides? (For 1.12.5 onward)

And be prepared to get insulted by people for sucking or playing slow, just suck it up and keep pushing forward. In my view, insulting players "for sucking or playing slow" is completely unacceptable for anyone on the server. We should enforce more appropriate behavior, especially towards newcomers.

[engine] Replace dismissal of recalls with hiding recalls

The problem The current tool for recall list management is dismissal: permanent removal of the veteran unit from the game. There are several problems with this: Because dismissal is permanent, smart players will not dismiss any unit that has any conceivable purpose for being on the recall list. Thi...

Re: Delfador's Memoirs

3 years since anyone has commented on this campaign?!? Does that mean making any changes is a mistake? Personally this is likely my favorite campaign (Northern Rebirth would be my other favorite, but for very different reasons). Improvement ideas: * 19 Showdown in the Northern Swamp - needs improve...

Can someone please block Wiki user Alexcross, whose five contributions are entirely spam? Thanks.

Please block JimBaker6758 on the wiki

His contributions are entirely irrelevant to the project (and also need to be deleted when the opportunity arises). Thanks.

Re: Wiki spam

There is more spam clogging up the RC feed. Unfortunately, I'm not able to delete it.

I can try putting together a script to parse the links to create one list of pages that an administrator can delete.

Wiki spam

There's a lot of spam on the wiki's Recent Changes feed. I've already blanked one spam page at http://wiki.wesnoth.org/User:Joyce7344, but I don't know what to do about the others.

Re: Delfador's Memoirs

I have a few issues with 19 Showdown in the Northern Swamp (and also 10 The Gate Between Worlds). Storywise, it doesn't make sense why Delfador should have a "spell [he has] specially crafted to the task" of killing Iliah-Malal only if there are no undead veterans. Since the scenario is unwinnable i...

Deleting spam on the wiki

How is it done, and what should us non-administrators do? I don't think there is an on-wiki deletion process, so I blanked http://wiki.wesnoth.org/User_talk:Janto719. If someone could delete it (if it's a problem), that would be great.

Tips for composition with abc2midi and timidity

Hello, I have been interested in writing music. However, I feel most comfortable writing out the score in abc notation and then using abc2midi and timidity to generate ogg files. I understand that Wesnoth wants something more polished than what is automatically generated from this procedure, so I'd ...

Re: Tutorial Rework

I do agree that the tutorial does need some modification. I also saw the series of videos where a player has trouble with the tutorial (and especially some of its instructions). I do have some comments on scenario 1: On line 388, I don't think it's a good idea to mention terrain defense at this junc...

Question about MP server etiquette and observer substitution

I've been watching several games on the official 1.8 server (I haven't actually begun one as a player myself since I'm not that good at the game) and I usually watch the active games as an observer. I do not check the "Quick replays" box because I like to watch a game from the beginning. Occasionall...
