Re: [POLL] What Operating Systems do you use Wesnoth on?
Chrome OS! OK, ubuntu 16.04 via crouton on a chromebook (HP 13 G1 (x86). This is my second compile from source via crouton; the first was on ubuntu 12.04 (on ARM). I think the narrative needs to get out there that terrific games like Wesnoth can be played locally on a chromebook- in a tab- by someon...

Re: I need CRYPTO_LIBRARY, but what is it?
Seriously, I would've sworn I installed that as well, until I tried it just now and saw that I didn't. Trying again...

Re: I need CRYPTO_LIBRARY, but what is it?
Didn't work for me out of the box either using ccmake on ubuntu xenial 16.04 (via crouton on HP chromebook 13 G1) with openssl installed. 'make' dies with the following output: [ 79%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/wesnoth-client.dir/build_info.cpp.o /home/nate/Downloads/Source/wesnoth-1.14.0/sr...

Hoping to return to this effort soon, all. After a tumultous year life is starting to stabilize again.

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
There is still hope; but the work should definitely be considered up for adoption at this point. I haven't returned to it in almost a year; and IRL issues including job & schedule changes have just wiped this right out of my mind. My blessings on whoever Zookeep finds to take over. HttT_Text_ALL...

Re: Post your favorite boardgame!
Just got Dominion on the table last week— Fun times! Not sure how we're going to get the play time down to the "30 minutes" advertised on the box (took us over an hour with three players), but a great, accessible strategy deck-building game.

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
Hi all, I'm not dead. I've been swamped with RL priorities over the holidays and new year. Looking forward to getting back into writing later this month.

Re: Games discussion
My real complaint with freeciv/civ is that the strategy that is required (see below) to win competitive multiplayer/high-level AI games is not at all apparent from or encouraged by the manual, high-difficulty AI, in-game-text, GUI, realism, "feelings", etc. It's simply unapparent until stu...

Re: Question: Where are the 'guts' for abilities/mechanics?
So if I want to modify the mechanics of a default ability without getting crazy with the engine, do I essentially need to create my own new ability and then remap the default ability to my new one? Where/At what level would I need to implement new ability code in order to make it global for every ca...

Question: Where are the 'guts' for abilities/mechanics?
Ok, simple question: where are the 'mechanics' of each ability stored? I can find 'abilities.cfg', but what pulls from 'abilities.cfg' to actually run the ability when triggered? I see the inputs; where are the 'guts'? example: the "Leadership" ability has a "value" input (20,50,...

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
I am glad you are undertaking this project, vodot, do you have any plans to tackle other campaigns afterwards? In my opinion Eastern Invasion needs a major overhaul... I am currently working with some of the other central mainline campaign maintainers, yes. Not all of them so desperately need a rew...
