Re: To Lands Unknown 3.0 for 1.14

It seems that if you don't get any bonus gold in "Fire Canyon," in the next scenario ("Dome of Elements"), you can't summon anything and can't proceed any further?

Re: Question : How does an UMC campaign become part of mainline campaigns?

I see. Well it's as complicated as I imagined it to be. The Dark Hordes? Never heard of that campaign... Somebody's willing to give me a brief synopsis? Edit : I must have been unlucky with that campaign since I first played in 1.1.x and then I stopped playing several years before coming back with ...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.13 (1.14 Release Candidate 2)

I notice that the scrolling behavior of the new list boxes in version 1.13 (e.g., the recall list, the campaigns list, the add-ons list, etc.) is different from the list boxes in version 1.12. In 1.12: Scrolling with the mouse wheel scrolls the list by one item Clicking in the scrollbar scrolls the ...

Re: The Questions that Have no answers.... yet.

It looks like Eregonor was first mentioned 14 years ago . I'm familiar with that thread. There's also a discussion about the canonocity of that particular map, that concluded that references to it should be removed from the wesnoth timeline. The rationale behind this is that there is no such place ...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.11 (1.14 Beta 3)

I can't reproduce the issue on that map :( All the mountains look fine. It's 100% reproducible for me - I think it's a problem with the Windows installer? I get this message in the log: error display: could not open image 'terrain/mountains/dry6_2.png' Looking at the file Program Files (x86)\Battle...

Re: Play older versions?

According to the SourceForge Twitter account, they are currently working on some issues. Once SourceForge is back online, old Wesnoth releases should be available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/wesnoth/files/

Re: Good campaigns for beginners

To the point, can anyone recommend any good campaigns for people who are new to (or just bad at, heh) Battle for Wesnoth? I've done Heir to the Throne, The South Guard, A Tale of Two Brothers and An Orcish Incursion, but after that I'm not sure where to go. I remember hazily that long ago I tried L...

Re: Scenario Review: NR 7 - Settling Disputes

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario? I still don't understand why I suddenly lost all my gold. It's been a while since I played this, but wasn't there an explanation for this in the story? Looking at the source code for the scenario here , it appears ...

Re: Is Wesnoth better on Windows or Linux?

I've played on both Windows and Linux - there's not much difference. Occasionally you may run into a bug that affects one or the other platform only. (Probably the most common is in add-ons which work only on Windows and not on Linux, because the add-on uses uppercase and lowercase inconsistently wh...

Re: [mainline] option for old menu interface in 1.13.x

I don't know how likely it is that this would be added to mainline, but you could edit your theme file (data/themes/default.cfg), to change the position of menu items, for example.

I don't know if there's an official name for it, but I think it's usually called the sidebar.

Re: Game paths

*shrug* I dunno. I was more concerned about firing up and checking the Paths dialog than wondering what was happening to the saved games or if I could load them. The game fire up. The dialog looked filled-in. HttT played a few turns. And a re-check of the dialog, now that you mention it, does name ...
