In 1.18, I downloaded your addon. There is this RFTA_Music addon but it's not listed as a dependency. Is this intentional?

Update:
I shall release new version soon. Just the following left to do:
- Playtesting
- Side events for S4 and S5
- Balance for S2
- Further adjustments for scenario 2

As for scenarios 6 to 9, yeah they will come at a later date.

Looking at the code, it seems that there's a bunch of units listed there that aren't showing up in the scenario.
Oh yeah, that's a bug. Fixed it. Will try to push an update by this week.

Yeah, but that's standard Wesnoth behaviour, standard leadership affects only the leader's own side, not allies
Maybe you can implement some feature where you check for leadership and substitute for allied leadership? Would actually make leadership very optimal to use.

I had an error message pop up near the end of the scenario, repeated several times – "[random_placement] failed to place items." This didn't break the game or seem to cause any problems going forward. I'm guessing it was because the game was trying to put down more of the enemy guard unit...

Hello, welcome to the forums.

Normally, the non-password protected games are open to join by anyone.

Some pseudo-ranked games usually have password protection enable but you may observe those as a spectator.

You can also host your own game with your preferred settings and someone may join as well.

I recently released a map-pack addon on the 1.17.x servers with around 55 scenarios. Can be played with any era. If any of them show good promise and value, might be tempted to offer those up for core inclusion (no clue how that will turn out though)
