Re: Geographical reconciliation
Just a remark : appart from "Meridius" and "Ocassus", the other place-names on the map are not anti-aliased.

Re: [engine] Save Game Organizer
What is the rationale behind not just using the standard OS Load/Save dialog? Is it purely a matter of aesthetics and if so can it be 'skinned'? This really is an area where Wesnoth functionality lags behind standard... There's no standard OS Load/Save dialog under Linux (and other *NIX systems). I...

Re: Geographical reconciliation
I find a bit odd that the lands looks like a square when the map is reduced (mainly because of the north coast I think). If I recall well, there was also a map for Meridia (the South of the Great Continent), but I cannot find it on the threads of Battle for Meridia. And it is not in the Battle for M...

Such plays on words are generally not translatable from one language to another.doofus-01 wrote:I could be off base, but if the title is supposed to resemble "War of the Roses", that might be worth taking into account as to what "roar" is translated as.

La clameur des woses a un e traduction parti e l le en français! There's no stats for the translations of Roar of the Woses in gettext.wesnoth.org ( http://www.wesnoth.org/gettext/?package=wesnoth-Roar_of_the_Woses&order=trans&version=branch ) :( I believe that Torangan can help you for the...

Re: New Campaign:Undead Incursion for 1.6 and 1.8
I am playing 'Undead Incursion' (wesnoth 1.8) and I have some remarks. For the scenario 'Out Numbered', I think the map should be redrawn : it is basically composed of two squares and a rectangle. Not very natural. And cavern walls around the cavern tiles should be present. Also, the 'Troll alert' a...

Not really, elves comes from the Norse mythology. However, the apparence they have in fantasy today comes from Tolkien.Reepurr wrote:Yes, elves were (unless I'm mistaken) created by Tolkien, but AFAIK just about everything else wasn't.

the family trees are made by JPEG because it's a better format for bigger images. JPEG are better for photos (and photo-like images), but not necesseraly for bigger images. A 2000x2000 pure white image is lighter when you record it with the PNG format than the JPEG (with a 75 % compression rate). F...

Re: Geographical reconciliation
The add-on campaigns Fate of a Princess and Brave Wings are partly or totaly located in the area between the Heart Montaigns and Borstep. There's a map showing this area in these add-ons. The map of these add-ons shows that Prestum and Dorset are located norther of the Heart Montaigns than your map.

About half-breed, the UMC campaign A Rough Life has a half-elf / half-dwarf character if I recall well.

A unit summoned by summoners cost also less than the same unit recruited on a keep. But the summoner can't move or attack if he summons a unit.bigkahuna wrote:Also, you can summon rhami and elements adjacent to a summoning unit, which is easier than making them walk from a keep (if you are far away).

Re: Games
One game I enjoyed to play is Ultima VII, an old DOS game (1992, commercial) in two parts (I played only the first part, The Black Gate). It's a quite immersive RPG : there's an interesting plot, the player (and its companions) have to eat and sleep, some companions can leave your group if you don't...
