Re: Ghouls

Secrets of the Ancients has details on what those specific changes are That is very good inspiration! I had done my own sketch already, but I added a few of these as an afterthought. So, not exactly a paintover ; I drew a skeleton based on the painted figure, then tried to improve anatomy a bit (st...

Re: Ghouls

Paintover incoming, probably tonight. I like the flesh tones, but if that (formerly a person) mutated into something undead then there should probably be changes that are more obvious than just the nails, nose and teeth (and can later be expanded into downright monstrous features for upper levels). ...

Much better now ! The spikier claws give off an added threat, I like it.

Hey Lordbob, I've received word that the campaign overhaul is not happening so please feel free to use the current campaigns to draw your portraits
Ok. That's too bad, I was looking forward to some serious change in the story department. Thanks for letting me know anyway.

Re: 1.15/1.16 portrait edits

Looking good for the Dirkfang. Colors are completely different from a saurian now, plus the skin and tail give a clear likeness to the fighters while the green crest and head provide a nice accent. The scorpion could do with more differenciation, though. I see the bumps and the added crest on its ba...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update

I think mixed fighter with some flash/bling/ornaments, has a bow but isn't a slender archer, has a blade that's just as important. Sounds good. Based on that description I might go for a ranged weapon that requires little set-up and can be used single-handedly while keeping the sword close at hand,...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update

Follow-up on the topic. There will probably be a couple other posts. Nagas For what it's worth, I can tone down the color on the dirkfang easily enough, if that's all that's wrong with it. I believe the dirkfang & friends are supposed to be from a different region than the fighters, with a slightly ...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update

Thanks everyone for the continued feedback. I will address as much as I can with this post, then wrap up the rest later this week. Arcmage / WTactics art There is some good art here, though not all of it is mainline quality. It is admittedly a lot better than some of the stuff we have had in the pas...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update

Thanks all for the feedback, keep it coming! This makes planning a lot easier, especially in respect to missing portraits and female variants. On variants, unless told otherwise I will then rule out Drakes and Dwarves. If it ever comes to it the latter can have "on paper" gender variants that their ...

Alright, preliminaries are over. Input, comments and feedback of any kind are welcome. Ideally, I would like for a mod to move this thread to Art Contributions so that anyone willing can participate in the upcoming discussion.

Re: [Proposal] Standard Release Schedule

The premise is that we have timing issues when it comes to delivering bug fixes in particular, and yet your proposal would have us ship releases only 4 times a year unless something is considered “game breaking” Now you mention it like this, maybe the standard release schedule could allow more flex...

Re: [Proposal] Standard Release Schedule

Not much to add on my end as I very rarely have anything to do with releases. It does seem a good idea to have a default release schedule though, if only because deadlines will structure team work as opposed to "let's release whatever we just happened to have developped whenever we feel like it". Wh...

Re: Royal warrior portrait

Thanks for the feedback guys ! I'm on holiday at the moment, will try and make progress on this over the coming weeks. I probably won't fix the leg, though, AOW : the stance is good, I think it's more a matter of adding a ground with matching perspective to avoid confusion (it can be read as weirdly...

Re: Project commissions and the SP campaign overhaul

Before going on about what to commission, I would stress that making progress on the tax filing cost (see financial report + discord discussion) will help quite a bit with the how . I don't know the rates for commissionning other types of work, but the yearly fee is equivalent to portraiting a full ...

Re: Royal warrior portrait

Thanks for the feedback. Word of caution: I am not sure if and when a royal warrior is actually used in the game, other than Eldaric who already has his own portrait. But if I were shooting for Eldaric here, I would pick armour that looks less advanced since tRoW is supposedly in a distant past. Thi...
