Re: Separation of Movement & Line of Sight
Um, how is that kiss at all when it takes a paragraph to explain its basic function? Well, I could have said "Do it exactly like movement". Is that KISS enough? Edit: And yes, I'll look into how to do this in code, in my free time. Summer school just has a lot of homework :). If I get a w...

Re: Separation of Movement & Line of Sight
Maybe you misunderstood me... I'm actually for this change and have been discussing it with others. My main concern here is actually implementation and keeping it Kiss. Almost all the ideas actually turn out to be quite clunky. However In my post above Im Talking more about people who suggest "...

Re: Where did you get your username from?
Well, mines boring but... here goes. I've always been kind've (unhealthily?) obsessed with the undead/necromancers side of games. When I started playing a lot of fantasy, I decided I wanted a name that (to me) sounded kind've evil and deathish. I knew that the syllable "Mor" was associated...

Re: Separation of Movement & Line of Sight
Well, actually this change would -not- affect balance. For the simple reason that this could just be added as an option available when making units/scenarios. Basically, the default (if nothing is messed with) would be that they see as far as their movement, and can't see past chasms etc(So same as ...

Re: HttT - The Elves Besieged - Challenging Difficulty
Okay, so basically I'm doing about as expected. I'll probably be playing the second scenario over and over again until i get that bonus! Well, I may eventually give up... but i'm playing the normal difficulty at the same time, so I can always play that if I get burned out .

Re: Does Isle of the Damned (Hard) end when reaching Turn 23?
Unless i'm completely remembering wrong, I believe it is at the end of the turn. So you will get to move on turn 23. In any case, just make sure you have a save and try it!

HttT - The Elves Besieged - Challenging Difficulty
Well, I have here the replay of my best attempt (as in results) at HttT The Elves Besieged on the Challenging(Hard) difficulty. I'm looking for tips on improvement. At the end, I have one ranger and one druid leveled, and Konrad about halfway leveled. On easy/normal I usually have 3-4 units plus Kon...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
Well, that page is pretty interesting. scraps quite a few ideas I gave earlier, but still, it helps to have some form of base history. Though I would tend to consider Invasion From the Unknown, I would mostly disregard Bad Moon Rising: although it is a great campaign, it contradicts wesnoth Lore on...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
Okay, so here's an idea i've been tossing around since our last posts: If mage academy is still around during this time period: Protagonist was found at an early age to have an amazing amount of magical potential and is taken to the mage academy to learn. The mages are very keen to keep her "go...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
Having thought a wee bit about your storyline, it feels to me that your main character lacks motivation. And I find the "greed and power hungry" thing to be... bland, maybe? Sure, he follows his mentor at first, but why would he switch over to the good guys? And why in the world would he ...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
The biggest hurdle to getting your project accepted into mainline may be the fact that there is already a mainline campaign about a young necromancer and his mentor that begins with learning basic necromancy. If you haven't played DiD yet, I strongly recommend that you do so and then go about the t...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
If you want it to be potentially mainlineable you'll have to stay out of alternate Eras. Count Kromire will not be mainlined no matter how popular it is/becomes because of this effect. Well, I want to have only a maximum of 4 unique units. Possibly as little as 2. Though, UtBS has an entirely diffe...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
Or maybe the good guys want you to take care of your ancient brothers in learning/rivals? Sounds like a good premisce early on, though. Yeah, right now (if I go with your time period idea) I figure we can have these objectives, in order: 1. Learn basic necromancy. 2. Defeat 1-2 rivals on Adviser's ...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
Well, so far that time zone sounds pretty awesome. I'll want to play the campaigns you mentioned and scrounge up a bit of lore before I decide for sure though. Yeah, number 2 is definitely going to be in there unless something else comes up. Maybe a vastly limited number 4. Like, you have to fight y...

Re: Possible Chaotic Unit Campaign
I do not mind constructive criticism, even if it contains ideas that would throw a good portion of my ideas out. All right... So isn't the plot basically that the protagonist just kills his way through the land because he's evil and wants the throne? I don't see how you can get a very interesting s...
