Re: first-time user impressions
AI: That's one single point I'm not so glad with. Once you realize that the computer opponent is easily distracted with dummy characters, the game becomes rather easy to play. This is not a bad thing in an entry-level campaign, but now I just have the feeling that my opponent is too stupid, which i...

Re: You think a faction is overpowered? Come here!
Secondly, I'm still not sure why everyone has such problems with the assassins marksmanship. The assassin was already very likely to hit at least once. The marksmanship just makes it so that it works reguardless of what the targets defence and improves the odds that the assassin will hit more often...

Re: Necromancer vs Lich
Necromancer's are tanks. They have no glaring weaknesses to any damage type and a base HP of 70 is nothing to scoff at either. Lich's are usually much easier to kill with the proper units.

Overall complaint with Son of the Black Eye/Trolls
I would have posted this in the Campaign Feedback forum but there is no place to put feedback that applies to a Campaign as a whole rather than just specific scenarios. Now I just recently competed the campaign on the medium difficulty (difficult) so take this with a grain of salt, but I found the s...

Re: Concealed Units
Concealment is really useless as a way to keep a unit alive -- theoretically a player can turn shroud updates off and then keep undoing his move until he finds the concealed unit, if that's what he's really after. Better used as a trap. The threat of ambushing woses keeps many a gryphon rider from ...

Re: Undead Unit Promotion Guide
One thing I find insufficient about that list is that it only lists the obvious traits. Often, when leveling, certain units get increased defence that is amazing. I think a lvl 3 poacher gets 40% dodge in water without any elemental weaknesses. But it's a great list overall. Also, that's a link tha...

Re: Concealed Units
Yes shadows, I meant to say shadows, and it was at night. It was the mission in DiD where you have to get Malin and Darken Volk into the caves. And I've had it happen with other units. Fugitives on towns getting zeroed in on when there are no other units anywhere close.

Concealed Units
Why does it seem like the computer always knows exactly where my invisible units are? I was trying to kill a mage with some wraiths and the mage immediately zeroed in on them and killed my units. Aren't they supposed to be invisible?

Undead Unit Promotion Guide
Undead Unit Promotion Guide by NinjaRealist The purpose of this guide is mainly to tell you which units are worth spending EXP on and which units are better left unpromoted. Walking Corpse Promotes into a Soulless. Soulless are kind of useless units because they aren’t good enough to really be worth...

Re: You think a faction is overpowered? Come here!
Not that they are overpowered but Northerners are totally beastly in 1.6. The main difference is that giving assassins marksman makes it a lot harder to mount continuous effective offense against them.

Why do ghouls have the "Undead" characteristic?
Aren't they actually living things? It doesn't make sense to me.

I've seen that guide before but I don't think it is very good and have therefore not used it very much.

Northern Rebirth: Elvish Princess
Wow, this is hands down the hardest Wesnoth mission I've come across. Playing it I can't help but feel I am going about it the complete wrong way. Anyone have any tips? Most of my recall units are Fugitives and Outlaws but I have about ten loyalists and a few dwarves. EDIT By the way I have 440 Gold...

Re: You think a faction is overpowered? Come here!
I'm assuming this topic is directed only at Default Era because some of the user created factions are pretty obviously overpowered.
