I wonder, why not all of them are recoverable, though...
Some would probably be too damaged to be recoverable after owner's death, like Golden Carpet or Desert Cloak. Collar of Recall would probably become a piece of junk, its power drained after 3 uses, etc.

Well, it is just an improvement over the old one, so don't expect custom UI or stuff like that.

Even better only to have inventory of carried items and ability to transfer items only to adjacent units. But I think it may be more difficult to implement.
