Re: HttT playthrough with ZERO losses
I have gryphons, but I don't have any leveled, since you don't get a chance to level them until you leave the caves, and by then you have too many L2 and L3 orcs and undead to try and level L1 gryphons, since they die easily. I'll try just using the L1 types though. Maybe they'll be enough of a dist...

Re: Killed all liches on Princess' Revenge!
I just watched it. I have no idea what just happened. Only 2 liches were dead and all sorts of weird things were happening during the battle...It was hilarious to watch that old replay on a 1.10 client... broken saves can do funny things

HttT playthrough with ZERO losses
I just recently got back into Wesnoth after a long while, so I jumped into HttT on Easy. Raging nostalgia, by the way. Then I realized I was doing pretty well, so I decided it would be an interesting tactical exercise to try and finish this campaign without losing a single unit! On Easy it should to...

Re: Wesnoth Lexicon
Thank you! This is not exactly what I need, but it will be useful. These words and phrases are acronyms and slang - they're not necessarily part of the formal Wesnoth lexicon. The Wesnoth vocabulary includes 'trait' 'recruit' 'keep' 'ability' 'recall' 'scenario' 'campaign' 'damage type', and so on. ...

Wesnoth Lexicon
I don't know if I posted this in the right forum or not, but... I've been a devoted fan of Wesnoth for years. It's true that there are long stretches of time in which I cannot play due to attending college. But Wesnoth captured my imagination and never fails to hold my attention. For my Linguistics ...

Re: Scenario Review: DiD 10 - Alone at Last
In theory, an ideal strategy here would be to distract Volk's troops until the Paladin shows up, and then have the Paladin and Volk go for each other, have them finish each other off, and go in for the kill. If you park yourself near Dela you can surround her without too much trouble. Then, go in fo...

Re: Backing up a turn
I unfortunately do load a lot, but I'm trying to do it a lot less so that my skill increases. I get very attached to units that I've spent effort leveling... I'll usually let expendable Level 1's go, but units that I leveled to 2 and 3 and 4, unless they are easy to level, are usually saved. It take...

I remember the first version I played was 1.3.4, do you remember when that was?

Re: You've been playing Wesnoth too long when...
Seriously? A Wraith at night against a Wose on a hill? That's amazing... I'm not surprised you got accused of cheating. I'm not saying you were, just saying that's the beauty of the RNG. Woses are vulnerable to arcane right? I hope that none of the attacks were magical or that would be really saying...

What sort of undead units? Woses are resistant to skeleton damage right?
I suppose this was during the day, when the undead can't do much?

Re: Scenario Review: SotBE 5 - To the Harbour of Tirigaz
(1) What difficulty level and version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on? Easy (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 2 - the undead fell like suckers to fire arrows and troll clubs. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Clear (4) How clear and interesting did you ...

Re: What is your favorite campaign?
I am surprised too. DiD was interesting, but favorite campaign to play? The final showdown, two scenarios before the end, where all your veterans die, is NOT fun to play. I really enjoyed the long battles in NR where you could strategically implement several plans. Plus, the characters were interest...
