If there had to be a "Worst Caster" award I think the DA or Augur would win, not the magi who own in day-time and whose attack is only really weak against Drakes...(as far as I know, haven't played wesnoth for ages... :? )

Drake leaders also tend to be awesome on the smaller maps. I know! On tiny maps with some water and mountains they are very scarreh indeed on the second turn, or surprising on the first if you don't knick a village. My favourite leader is the Dwarven Lord on AoH and any sort of Troll on Default, be...

Heh, you should try playing as Drakes v Knaglans on Age of Heroes with the enemy leader being a Dragonguard, they own drakes so much it's not funny (I did this once, I defeated all the enemies on the map only to find this dragonguard on a mountain range surrounded by a posse of thunderguards...) I s...

Does Wesnoth need a proper installation?

It's just that the only broadband computers i can access have silly download bans (meaning you can only click "Run" instead of save). So if I installed Wesnoth onto a CD (or Flash drive etc) from these computers, can I just copy the files from the CD onto my own computer and Wesnoth will w...

Huh? Well at least in Easy / Medium, you can keep around 3 to 4 of them, + the... hm.. Trident(the thing Poseidon uses? :P), that sea weapon. You sometimes need mermen in some scenarios of HttT, and when you do you can use these, especially the one with the sea weapon. I managed to save about 7-10 ...

I'd just aim for a Great Mage, the intelligent trait should come in handy there. I think strong/intelligent or strong/quick are the absolutely most annoying traits to get for a mage. Although strong isn't that bad for a Mage of Light, so I definitely welcome a strong/resilient mage into my ranks. I...

I usually just try to get high-leveled units quickly (by making use of intelligent/anything other than quick traits)...but i sure do hate when you recruit quick/intelligent mages....bloody useless heaps of wasted gold they are...

I think a new unit should be added with a weak impact or holy attack should be added. Weak, as in it should be next to useless against any other faction. It could be a human unit (so that should stop massive spamming of this unit) with some tweaked weaknesses against blade or cold so it isn't too po...

ugh...It seems nearly every game I play against loyalists as Knaglans, the Loyalists always spam bloody Heavy Infantry! :x . Its like they are in constant fear of massive griffin swarms! And lately most of the games seem to be 5gpv, 500 starting gold and some stupidly low EXP setting, so sometimes t...

would the new version work with a 996mhz Celeron processor? I also have...128mb of RAM :) Dunno. I ran it on a 600Mhz with ~512MB RAM (until it died. :(). OTOH, the OS also matters. If you're running that resource-hog XP, probably not. If you're running it under Win98, quite possibly. Personally I ...

I agree with numbers 1, 2 and 4 (this rebel player spammed mages and archers while I spammed ulfs :P), but i've never played against number 3s yet. What annoys me more though is that every time I seem to log on, the same damn 8 player games are on the server EVERY TIME! And there's never enough pass...

Well, downloading won't be a problem anymore, I can just use my school's computers which have broadband and CD burners.
