I agree with the last 3 posts. Slow and poison are the most effective ways to deal with higher level units. Poison, then ZoC with worthless units. Slow if possible. If you do slow the guy, then you can probably risk attacking with units you want to keep, although it can be risky. In MP, you really h...

Make portraits for User-made Campaigns. UMC's (as they are called) often use portraits that don't make it into mainline. Have a look at the campaigns in the dev version that have missing or inadequate portraits and make some. Even if they aren't up to mainline standard as such, the campaigns in the ...

Uh, I don't think Wesnoth works on consoles. With the exception of April Fools tricks, that is. So, no, it isn't possible at the present time . Although I don't think it ever will be, I don't know for sure. Maybe a dev will buy a PS3 and make Wesnoth run on it. Personally, I don't think consoles are...

I thought Rev. V! Did a dying animation for the female red mage?
I don't know about any of the other mages. My dev version has the outdated animations too, althuogh my dev version is rather old, since I haven't updated it for some time...

I use a combination of 98, Fedora Core, and XP. I play Wesnoth on Windows because I can't be bothered DLing another version for Linux...

Oh, and Vista sucks. I've yet to meet someone in person who likes vista.

Wesnoth has it's share of spammers. Higher Game was one, and so was Danny_California. There are new ones now, but I won't name any names... I do hope the commands I posted for turning debug mode and autosaves off work. I don't use the Dev version, you see. It's hard to keep up to date when it takes ...

Ingame, Type either ":nosaves" or ":nosave". I can't remember which it is, so I always type both. You will need to do this every time you start Wesnoth.

Yes, the Autosave option thing doesn't work properly. In the dev version I last DLed, it didn't work either.

Oops, you beat me to my post! Those appear when you are in debug mode. It must be on by default in the dev versions. I think to turn it off you type something along the lines of ":debug" or ":debug off" In response to your question 2, it isn't too hard to have a Wesnoth with your...

Just edit your contrib page on the wiki. I added some artwork to mine by posting in on photobucket and linking to it in my contrib page. Just don't forget to update the number on the main contrib page afterwards!

Here's my 10 cents :) I've experienced nasty players in the past. I joined a game once and one of the other players (not the host) was very bossy and told everyone what to do. I told him that each player should be allowed to choose of their own free will what to do, and to stop abusing the other pla...

I've compiled stuff under windows, but I'm not used to having to DL dependencies and dev packages. It won't overwork my dialup connection too much, will it?

I just hope that as soon as I compile 1.2.6, 1.2.7 doesn't come out

Thanks. I suppose I'll compile it then. Or I could just not use Linux for anything, but hey! I gave it a 50GB partition! It's cool! etc. etc. Compiling Wesnoth... the final frontier. I hope it's not too hard  I'm used to programming but not in Linux. Hopefully the wiki page on compiling is up-...

Getting Wesnoth 1.2.6 on FC5

Hi, got Linux working online recently and I found that the most recent Wesnoth rpm for fc5 is 1.2.4. I was wondering, would the fc6/7 Wesnoth releases work under fc5? Or must I compile Wesnoth 1.2.6? Or, would I be better off emulating it under Wine, thus saving me 3 hours of DL time (but then again...

You don't mind these being used for Runesword 2 ? It's open source (public domain) and needs some more skill images (Look in the Runesword Open Source section in the forum, there's a thread there if you're interested in helping out or having a look). Runesword lacks a lot of skill and spell images, ...
