Extremely minor adjustment-suggestion regarding the back roof edge of desert3, but. Not the most scientifically accurate shadow. And I don't know why it is all dark and muted; my PS is messed up again apparently, saving things in an unpredictably obnoxious manner... damnit.

.. It doesn't seem that way to me at all; I assumed he was pointing to the side, somewhere on the field, commanding his troops..

By the way, your filenaming scheme is reminiscent of the one used in Neverwinter Nights. Did you do anything for that game? I used to play it a lot, so the prefix here is mostly for my own organizational comfort zone. :D I guess it's pretty redundant. Never officially put out any portraits for NWN,...

Rather - I want to make you better. That's good, because everywhere I've posted my art I have been denied, for some unknown reason, useful critique. I was beginning to lose hope, being basically left in the dark. Which leads into my primary downfall: yes, accurate lighting. I remember realizing at ...

Thanks for the compliments. I have to admit that there are a lot of errors in anatomy, and the color is perhaps somewhat schizophrenic. Regarding stylistic incongruity, this is what I expected, so it's not really a disappointment in any way. The three creatures were fun to do. It'll be healthy to pr...

Portrait Attempts

Some pictures I drew in the past 24 hours... Ogre was yesterday. He seems far too sophisticated. Then I drew the bat in an hour this afternoon, and the bloodbat in about 90 minutes after eating dinner (Taco Bell). It's probably too demonic, but I like it. All of them would benefit a more careful fin...

Unique does not imply superior... sheesh. You're like those people who said the old Wesnoth logo was better because it was "original". Maybe so, but if I may defend my status as a stupid newbie, I had merely taken into consideration the fact that while Wesnoth's current Sorceress-Enchantr...

On top of possessing greater aesthetic appeal, dashes are more logical than multiplicative depictions, primarily because 7x3 as a function tends to guarantee 21 damage, which is (by my luck) rather rare.

Even if you're dissatisfied with the new design, it's still superior, in that it's now unique. Besides, not all elves wear frilly princess dresses.

I think what makes the head look so disconnected is that you left his right arm in the same spot. Maybe you could pull that shoulder forward a bit, or even redraw the arm reaching forward more.

Edit.. I'm not a pixel artist, but like this or something:

Re: drawing tests, suggestions welcomed

Oy, I wrote up a few paragraphs attempting to explain this also, but Jetryl certainly knows better than I. Vendanna: you're definitely heading in the right direction. I hope to see you continuing these. Someone might recommend The Gimp, which is an opensource application generally superior to MSPain...
