Welcome guys. To both of you new players: Download the development version! It's always much more balanced, easier to use, and it's usually more "stable" than the stable version is. Also that way if you're interested in creating campaigns, your WML won't be left in the dust when the stable...

The other problem with FreeCiv is that it's not nearly as stable as Wesnoth. The game often crashes for no reason. Just a little while ago, I was playing a game, and then it crashed. So I opened up FreeCiv again and loaded my savefile, but for some reason it had replaced my player slot with an AI pl...

FreeCiv or Wesnoth?

Hey everyone, I've taken a break from Wesnoth for a while to play things like roguelikes(Nethack, Angband, ADOM), Doom, Quake, and other stuff. One thing that I've found is that Wesnoth is STILL the best free strategy game hands-down. Or atleast that's what I thought, until I found FreeCiv. If anyon...

If you can pull this off, it will help me ALOT. Plus I voted option 2, I think that 2 and 3 are both good, you should ATLEAST do 1 and 2 and if possible 1-3.

Oh, I didn't know you could get that. Thanks for telling me, I have a strong and resilient knight thats just begging for it next level. (Plus paladins are gay, pardon my French.)

Edit: I meant look gay, they work pretty well.

No, I don't really know exactly how it should be, I am listing stuff that I think that I would want in a Wesnoth newsletter. I would really be fine with anything for a Wesnoth newsletter.

You guys are basing your objections(for the people who have objections) on the chance that someone MIGHT find the link. It's not that obvious to some people, and it can never hurt to make it more obvious. But I definitely think that adding some text like Download _____ would help, and DEFINITELY cha...

The Eastern Invasion

Should I level my Knight into a Paladin or a Grand Knight? I am fighting against mostly undead, but some people still like Grand Knights. What should I choose?

An RSS for the news on the front page would be okay I guess. But I am talking more about sending like a weekly RSS with all the cool stuff happening, not just major game updates. Like new maps & scenarios and stuff. Also maybe news on new art and factions, some tips on how to play the game, stuf...

Crappy Download On Front Page

On the front page, it's not even remotely obvious that you can download the dev or stable version by clicking on the link that says "Windows/Mac/Linux." I never even moved my mouse over it to see that it's a link, I almost neverr tried this awesome game because I didn't know where to downl...

Wesnoth Newsletter

It would be awesome if someone would make a weekly Wesnoth newsletter or RSS feed or something. Like you could give technique tips, talk about new campaigns/multiplayer scenarios/maps, recent changes, and stuff like that.

Well you don't really need much for sprites like Wesnoth art, I find that MS Paint works best, just because of the zoom feature, except for GIMP. GIMP has features for sophisticated pictures and stuff but also for simple stuff like sprites.

What Image Editor Do You Use?

For all the artists out there, I was interested in trying to make some Wesnoth art(I'm kind of a crappy artist though, I will probably end up trying to make a stick figure faction :P), and I was wondering what image editor you guys use. For this game I think the best editor would be Microsoft Paint,...

*cough* Drake Oppressors. *cough* Yeah I saw that thread, I was thinking about using some of those. I just gotta learn WML first(don't post the links, I know where the pages are). I can pretty much learn as I go, I just wish that there was some sort of step by step tutorial to get you started instea...
