Re: Undead campaign: Descent into Darkness

Brilliant ending, requires insight to win and illustrates the futility of Malin's quest. I don't think "Forever and ever, amen" should get harder over time, as the scenario then becomes "survive as long as you can" which is a reasonable (un)life goal. I can imagine people saying ...

Re: Scenario Review: DiD 12 - Forever and Ever, Amen

I don't think this scenario can be rated by traditional methods. It serves a story purpose, and does so brilliantly.

The dull and repetative gameplay is the whole point. It is of course very easy to win, hint once you realize what the victory condition is.

Please, no feature locking. I can't believe how this bad idea has gotten popular. Unbreakable rule- the person should be in charge of the computer, not the other way around. A computer might be partitioned in one way or another, into differant user domains, and more intricate functions might be made...

He said proprietary data, not proprietary art. Data would include art, but also for example map and unit configuration files. He didn't address what is the really crucial question, which is what about plug-ins? While the GPL allows proprietary data files to coexist with GPL code, the status of plug-...

A "military academy" that gives experience in return for gold is the very example found in the buildings section of the UsefulWMLFragments.

The problem with nighttime and daytime is time has nothing to do with it. Day and night as such are irrelevant. What matters is the illumination.

They are called mages of light, not mages of daytime. "Light" and "Dark" describe the actual situation.

The real reason ancient armies couldn't fight endlessly over the same terrain was the local resources would be exhausted, so the "soft limit" on gold sounds good to me. I don't like the limit on XP as there is no logical reason for it, and doesn't really seem to be needed. Scenarios would ...

Harper's death is not supposed to be a defeat condition in the last scenario. I don't think Baldras, and certainly not Harper, are supposed to have the leadership trait. I have never been able to isolate the Saurian recruitment problem. I was hoping it didn't really exist. The scenario worked in ear...

It's easy to do if you know how to work with a 3d engine like Irrlicht, or OGRE, or you can make you own, like I did, since all you need is basic functionality- importing textures, billboards, terrain, and a skybox. I think there is confusion here between 3d, which just means using a perspective pro...

#http://testdrive2.freehostia.com/images/swordsmen.JPG Evidently my web host is too cheap to allow direct linking to files? Anyway if you go to the above website, which you will have to do manually after removing the # character, you will see my wesnoth 3d example. I don't think it looks too bad, a ...

You're right probably it doesn't belong on the campaign server.

OK, here is the working version, the first two scenarios. Like I said, it's basically a complete rewrite of the WML.

I spent a couple of hours trying to upload it without success. It gets to the "add-on" screen but never uploads anything and eventually times out. Unless someone has an idea what is wrong I'm not going to try anymore.

I ran into unbelievably massive problems too numerous to mention. I did get the first two scenarior working in 1.2. Probably they are broken again. I'll upload what I have, if you really want it, but just so you realize, on the first two not very complicated scenarios, I found a complete rewrite to ...
