Re: Heir to the throne comics
So if I understand correctly, the best thing would be to re-publish the Wesnoth comic under GPL or under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license. No, you can't dual-license it. If you use the images under the terms of the GPL, then you have to offer them under the terms of the...

Re: Captain Swings portrait work ... Undead
the boneshooters stance is very cool and relaxed - nice! but i agree that the armour idea came out a bit comical Things made out of bone really do look like that . I'm apparently alone in thinking the ghoul is pure win as it is. Maybe the jaw is just closed for the pose? That leaves room for a dram...

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves
Longer hairspikes I was wondering about this. Given Games Workshop's famously draconian attitude towards unlicensed representations of their IP, it might be a good idea to actively avoid giving the zerkers the appearance of Dwarf Slayers (although I assume that they were the most direct influence o...

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves
Wow. The new helmet design is awesome (apologies for my twice-scolded remark about the old one, though; no alcohol before critique infuture). The sentinel is easily your most polished (no pun intended) work to date!

Why is this in the Art Workshop forum if you aren't actually working on any art?

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves
The bars on the sentinel's helmet don't work. It looks like a half-assed hockey mask. It's neither a practical device in the real world nor cool-looking, as it's going to necessarily disrupt what looks like an appealing facial render.

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarf Thunderer
Dwarves should have some hair on top, I mean they never shave their beards, why would they shave their head. Errr, it's male pattern baldness . Perhaps you think it should be long at the back, so that dwarfs all look like Bill Bailey ? (thankfully I don't imagine thespaceinvader is going to take mu...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
There's plenty of license to differ from the sprite in portraits. If you dislike the wings feel free to dump them.LordBob wrote:granted, the wings fit rather poorly with the rest of the armour. I included them in order to match the sprite, so I'm afraid they'll have to stay on.

Re: Some sketches
Um, the shield's certainly a clever gimmick, but it's not going to be so hot against piercing weapons. Like spears and arrows. And piercing weapons (harpoons and the like) also work well under water so they'd be popular choices among merfolk, reducing the value of a shield like this. Defensively, I...

Re: REQUEST Updates of old Lutesian Portraits
You need to take the entire border off first (simply fuzzy-selecting it doesn't give the right effect - the edge needs recoloured to fade to transparency properly because the border isn't black itself), then re-add it with a thicker brush. Here's thse two images taken to the first step. All I've don...

Re: Art for Eve of Death
These are hella cool. Frankly I'm so pleased with the thrall that I think that should be how the mainline zombie line progresses (as "zombie with a weapon" is a far more sensible suggestion for an experienced somnambulist than "zombie which has changed skin tone"). Please keep wo...

Re: Icons for .exe files
The black background isn't an improvement and so far as I can see you've only provided 32x32 icons - Windows needs 16x16 as well, Vista and Mac OS X also need larger resolutions. The writing is also hardly legible, and as it's in English it isn't as accessible to users in other languages.

Re: Since I don't have an active topic ATM... Portraits!
I'm going to be a huge pain here and point out that the technology level of the spears doesn't match that of the armour. Either the flint heads need to be better-crafted, or the armour really look like it was whacked together using tools of similar design. It's less smooth than it used to be, but it...

Wrong. Bronze is harder than iron. It gave way to iron because iron is easier to find, not because it's strictly inferior.thespaceinvader wrote:It's only made of bronze, that's not exactly hard metal.
