I think that one of Wesnoth Mainline balance principles is:
There is SHOULD not be any ability which negates another ability

I like this, especially if holy damage will be renamed to mystic damage.
So my proposal is changing to:

Code: Select all

Apprentice -> Mage -> Master Mage -> ArchMage
                             -> Silver Mage
                -> Mystic -> Master Mystic

Just my 2 cents:
Apprentice -> Mage -> Master Mage -> ArchMage
-> Silver Mage
-> Cleric -> Master Cleric

+1

Wesnoth sacrificed balancing to savegame comparability. Why we sacrificed comp. to size of savegames?

1. Can be Ghost/Wraith fixed? vs. Drakes or vs. HI losing cold damage a problem.. 2. I think system must follow KISS principle :)

Just registration and black/white lists.

It resolves problem with undead too boring, and demonstrating all good art that artist done for this game.

Yes, walking corps are different in strength, but also units with traits.

Guys, I just want to say that I also think that GM is weak comparable to another 2nd lvl units. I don't think that GM isn't useful, but some minor increase in HP can make GM better.

1. All seems to agree then submerge will make merefolk "as sea born as they should". 2. Adding submerge probably hasn't many balance issues because: a) Most multiplayer maps don't have large bodies of any terrain (not deep water, nor forest).
