Re: Wesnoth Forum Era
I see. I personally don't think there should be de-infestation in that case. Araja's and ParadiseCity's stats aren't going to be that much impressive. It's the fact that they can morph into something else (presumably from another faction) that makes them awesome; adding de-infestation would be over...

Re: Wesnoth Forum Era
BTW the de-infestation action has to be implemented. Is it going to be? What do you mean? This unit can take up the form of an enemy unit upon giving the killing blow if desired. However, the new 'unit' will only have half the amount of the max hitpoints of the unit it killed and no experience. Inf...

I'm not sure you are right in this case, cause he/she IS strangemonochromatic wrote:Alien here refers to 'foreigner', not 'strange + otherworldly being'.Araja wrote:Apparently I'm an alien, so it seems like a fitting ability.

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
small range damage (barking ;-) ) An idea for an AMLA could be to give barking a special, something like slow, maybe? Yes, I 've thought about slow (or stun) special as major AMLA. At the level 0 it should be swarm range attack 1-10. At noon the penalty could make it 0-10 ;-) and at night 2(or more...

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
I think that before any unit specific AMLA we need to discuss roles of all units in factions. e.g. I prefer claws and fangs instead of impact attack. It also determines possible AMLAs and description, too. My first propose for tapik as a small dog: - chaotic - possible lycantropy (-50%, +100%) - fas...

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
I think that both kinds are possible. I think that minor AMLAs should be generic and major ones should be unit specific (or faction specific).Pentarctagon wrote:out of curiosity, are the AMLAs going to be generic AMLAs used by everyone, or are they going to be more tailored to the specific unit or unit types?

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
- Units go up a level for each Major AMLA they pick; You are right. A minor improvement cannot increase the unit price. If the TWFF is used in a campaign, units at level 15 could come very easy and you will not be able to recall such units because of their per turn price ;-) Tapik's idea of discrim...

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
just my two cents, but I prefer being able to get them in any order, as I think it would add more variety and personal preference It depends on unit. Each unit could have a background, its own story. And the same could apply to AMLAs. Simple example: swordsman has two AMLAs. "In the darkness i...

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
Yet another idea about AMLAs. Let's implement the AMLAs as "set of AMLAs possible at the current level of unit": Each advacement means new unit level Each unit level specifies a set of possible AMLAs AMLAs could support levelling, too. As written before, AMLAs (or their levels) could defin...

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
2) I'd really appreciate having graphical unit trees with some info in them (I volunteer to do the actual trees if you supply me the sprites and info). AFAIK there will be no tree, but simple flat structure. There will be no leveling. 2 b) The general faction flavour: should it be a expensive but p...

So I have to say I'm totally confused. Does "unique" AMLA means, that all units will be on the same level?monochromatic wrote:As the default, yes. Note other versions can be made in the future.Golbeeze wrote:So the final verdict for leveling up was decided on being unique AMLAs?

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction
Another point of view: we could divide members of the forum faction into two parts:
If (I don't know) there are so few players in the WFF, we could raise some more ones
- * content providers - faction of good
* only players - evil faction

Translations
The faction is not ready for l10n. Please add
to the .pbl file to let wescamp generate .pot and .po catalog files. Then it will be easier for me to check if the whole faction is translatable.
