Re: Will there ever be a Wesnoth 2.0?

I personally feel that Wesnoth should go to 2.0 when it converts to an improved rendering engine. Such as OpenGl. And no, this doesn't mean going into full 3D (it wouldn't be the same game then).. the game would just run a lot better in opengl.

Two swords is generally a terrible idea. But oh well I guess this is fantasy :) Just for the record, the Elvish Hero isn't using two swords. The smaller one is a parrying dagger. Yeah I just saw that as well (this is after looking at a lot of 'Red Steel' screen shots :)). Anyway, I likes that new w...

I find it funny that games like Rome Total War and Quake 4 run smoother than Wesnoth on my computer. Maybe Wesnoth uses some kind of special effect that only some graphics cards have? Or not. And yeah.. its not cheap at all to make a decentish computer out of an old one! In fact over half the ...

You know I'm surprised at how many people have shunned the whole clan thing... I mean ultimately (as seen in other games) clans have set up their own servers and created some pretty cool mods. Oh and clans actually use TeamSpeak... Plus clans = more competition/more interest/more advertisement for B...

I seem to get more OOS errors on the newest version than on 1.0.2 in online multiplayer, although that could just be to do with all these DotG/DotM games.

You could get the thing to use mp3 files, but not as default. Some programs (e.g. Mediamonkey) tell you to install the free lame (whatever) codex - which, due to copyright issues, can't be included with the download unless, of course, you give the people behind the mp3 format money. And anyway, what...

That is great to hear. :D

But still, using fighters as cannon fodder works well when you have a Shaman or two to back them up (and slow down those big hitters).

(just a suggestion) To save time, could you not just copy the code for Stone and then alter it slightly? Or maybe not. :?

I suppose it would just get a bit cluttered if people started asking for games in the forum. Plus you'd get frowned upon by the old woses. :)

But I don’t see anything stopping someone from just making a new league of sorts.

JW: how on Earth are you going to tell someone that it is a private game if you both speak different languages? A lock symbol, on the other hand, is pretty much as universal as it gets.

Speed-bar

Wouldn't it cause lots more errors on the multiplayer if all the players have the game at different speeds?
