Re: [engine] Unit-specific undo
Have you tried the whiteboard in 1.9? It's not exactly this, but similar. Is that "Planning mode"? I just noticed it but haven't tried it yet. It looks good, but it'd be best if you didn't need to know in advance that you'll want to undo. Aside: Gmail just implemented an undo for discarde...

[engine] Unit-specific undo
At times it would be really nice to be able to select a unit and undo their move specifically. I don't know if this would be better as a replacement for the current undo, or as an alternative to it (Ctrl-U?). Certainly it's only worth doing if it can be implemented in a clean, unconfusing way. I can...

Unit Tree to point to default era?
If I go to http://units.wesnoth.org/ and click on "1.8 (Stable)" it goes to a unit tree sorted by race (http://units.wesnoth.org/1.8/C/mainline.html).
Would it be better to point it at default era (http://units.wesnoth.org/1.8/C/era_default.html)?
Thanks.

Re: Quimera
Well a rose is a rose by any other name. And anyone used to calling them roses will stick with it even if everyone starts calling them blearghs. My point exactly: most people familiar with the term will think of mermaids - that's the term popularised by (modern translations of) the Odyssey. That's ...
Re: Quimera
Sirens are bird-women, not mermaids. The confusion arises from words similar to siren being used in other languages to mean mermaid. I think you meant "Sirens were historically bird-women, not mermaids". As fictitious creatures, we're free to define them as we like, and there's a lot of p...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons rule-set, and battle system.
I'm not really sure what you're suggesting. Are you suggesting a mode where the players purchase armies with points prior to play? That probably wouldn't be too hard to do - The easiest way is probably to have a map with no villages, and have huge castles that go away at the end of the first turn (v...

Re: New Undead Faction Line: Embalmer
but im just talking about the entire horseman line. if someone is worried about RIPLIB, just do lancer, not knight...and anyways, movement doesnt really matter that much, as the grand knight can still get to places fast, just not as fast as it could before. paladins charge is still pierce, and thats...

Re: New Unit- Bomber
A. 25-1 isn't a very powerful attack at all, considering a mere spearman can do 21 damage (7-3)in a melee without suiciding. Presumably this would be a cheap Level 0 unit - say, 6-7 gold as opposed to 14 for the Spearman. Loyallists don't have gunpowder so this unit would only make sense for the Kn...

Re: New monster "line": Corpse Moth and Corpse Worm
I believe the point is that Larvae grow into Moths, not the other way round. It would be more natural to beef the moth's stats.CarpeGuitarrem wrote:And yeah, the moth is far inferior. Maybe if you switched them, and removed the slow from the Silk Spray?

Re: New Undead Faction Line: Embalmer
He's referring to the Knight Levelling. It can level either into the Grand Knight (which is slower) or the Paladin (which loses Blade damage in favour of Arcane).michchar wrote:but, the horseman can just level into the lancer, so it doesnt violate RIPLIB.

I anticipate Jetryl saying this would look cheap...Vendanna wrote:Now you only would need to replace the axe with the hammer and you would probably have another attack made and would require less work.

I dunno. That mushroom doesn't look particularly perturbed to me - it looks disinterested rather than conquered. :) I interpreted "conquered" as meaning terrain that had been seized from the enemy rather than an enemy that had been defeated... Coming from SynErr I assumed the mushroom was...

Re: Make Python Scripts useable from WML
Requiring installation of additional software severly lowers the appeal. The more hoops the user has to jump through, the less likely they are to do so.arielbys wrote:You can just say "Needs Python 2.5" in the Campaign\Scenario selection window, or say it an MP-Unsafe code (like random was).
