Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
Here's a quick replay, this map is rather small so zoc is not very hard. Thanks; unfortunately, it didn't work on my version of Wesnoth (1.8.5.). I'm assuming this is from 1.9.2.? Feliz Navidad (Happy Nativity)! In Christ, Crushmaster. Yeah after playing a few more times against 2 AI, I'm starting ...

Cool. Could you please show how to change the AI to just recruit random units?Rya wrote: I personally solved the problem by modifying the AI to just recruit random units. And from my investigations, players have it harder to defeat that AI than the one with fixed recruitment!

Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
I recently played two games on random maps 3 player maps against 2 ai's. One of the games was with default era and I won, the other game wasn't and I lost. (I won with drakes against 2 pairs of elves). Beating 2 ai's on one of the default 3 player maps would prove to be difficult: It would be hard ...

Re: Making the AI more difficult
I'm also looking for a way to make local mutliplayer vs AI more challenging. Try play vs AI with 200gold and if that's still too easy then try with 300 gold ;) and then try vs two AI teamed together. If you want just the single AI to be "smarter", you'll have to get into some AI programming.

Re: Bad habits against the AI? (moved)
So, what other more insidious bad habits should one look out for? Getting lazy/sloppy cause the AI is easy enough that you know you'll win anyway. eg. I don't put much thought into my recruiting against AI cause I know I can beat the AI with a half-sane recruit. A human player wouldn't let me get a...

Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
Which leads to an interesting question:
What do you think the default AI's ELO rating would be?
It would be well below 1500 (average player) I think.

Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
I haven't played against the AI in a long time, but unless it's learned to retreat, it won't provide a comparable experience to playing against humans. While you'll improve as a player against the AI, you won't get much better against humans, and may even pick up some habits that make you play wors...

Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
Yeah, I wanted to improve as a player so I needed to find way to make the AI more challenging. I can't handle 2 AI's yet so I guess a good middle point is to give a single AI a gold advantage. Thanks for the suggestions. Edit: The new AI in 1.9.x is better and I've had to tone back the settings a bi...

Re: Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
Do you mean choosing between default AI and RCA AI? which is stronger anyway?dipseydoodle wrote:Yes! I think you can change which ai you go against, if that helps.![]()
Survival Extreme? sounds like fun. does it come with the Wesnoth installer or do I have to download an addon?dipseydoodle wrote: EDIT: Or try Survival Extreme.

Anybody able to beat two AI opponents?
I don't play campaigns much anymore. And I don't have enough time to play against human opponents on a server. So I resort to playing 1 vs 1 against the computer. I find that 1 vs 1 against the AI is too easy. But I definitely can not win playing vs 2 AI opponents. Has anybody been able to take on 2...

Re: problems with campaign server
Hello guys, I've got two problems with downloading new campaigns: 1) About half of my download tries stop downloading with just a few kb's left to download and I have to ctrl-alt-del to shut down wesnoth with task manager because it's not responding. 2) If it does download the entire campaign, afte...

Mystery Campaign 1.2.4 uploaded to the Wesnoth 1.1.11 campaign server. Visible changes: * Units from TRoW, HTTT, and EI resynced against 1.1.11 * Unbalancing changes: ** I have started playing with resetting the exponential growth pattern. This needs tuning. ** Dwarves: you should have a decent cha...
