Ahh, typers vs clickers holywar :roll: :)

I am on clickers' side and already use Double Commander but it can rename files only in one folder at a time (not recursively in nested folders). Or maybe I missed something in its UI?

I guess, that it is supposed to work with search results. Maybe if you search directory for filenames and then select rename tool, it will go for files in several directories. Though I am not going to install it to check.

Double Commander's batch editing works from search results (as you described), but multi-rename is separate tool opened for currently highlighted files/folders and I could not find a way to run this multi-rename tool recursively.

Anyway, I am patient enough to do it by hand so it is not a show-stopper )

It should be doable in Double Commander. First you do recursive search, then send all found files to panel, and then they should work like if they all were in single directory.

If you can't do that, try updating Double Commander to latest version.

this is the only step which is unclear to me. what particular panel do you mean? could you please post a screenshot with "send to panel" button/menuitem/etc highlighted or otherwise marked?

Are there any strong reasons to have files named like that?
another reason I forgot about: files like ...-1, ...-0 etc reference respective ...-(media) files which should be imported before they can be referenced. "(" helps to make them import first because numbers follow "(" in alphabetical (ANSI?) order. now I have to either find other character that is treated as "before numbers in alphabetical order" or otherwise make ...-(media) files import before respective numbered files

version 0.5.2 is published for BfW 1.10.7 and 1.12.x

changes:

- added "trade nexus" rule: if leader of side is sufficiently far from map's edges at the start of side's turn then given side gets a bit of extra income, amount of extra income is shown in income indicator (located at top panel to the right for most UI themes) summed up with gold loss from "corruption" rule
- added right-click option for showing menu that allows to enable/disable automatic messages produced by some custom rules
- fixed bug: thanat drifter lacked some sounds because of typo
- fixed warnings that did not affect end-user experience except maybe slowing down things a tiny bit (thanks to wayirr for suggestion to check stderr.txt file):
invalid WML array index (was caused by unit-trait-badges.cfg)
reference to non-existent rect id (was caused by main-ui-theme.cfg)

Yeah it is very fun to use! :D Just go next to it and right click on the windmill or village!

it is scripted using BfW's dialogue system which was not really meant for such a job. recruiting from standard recruiting window anywhere except in castle seems to require changing BfW's source code...

version 0.5.2 is published for BfW 1.14.0

the only change compared to versions published for BfW 1.10.7 and 1.12.6 is shortened description because BfW hangs when era with very long description is chosen on multiplayer game creation screen

hotfix version 0.5.2a is published for BfW 1.14.x

this version fixes following bugs that occur only in BfW 1.14:
- no time of day in altered random maps
- "wesnoth <Lua error> lua/core.lua:203: bad argument #1 to 'elem' (empty variable name)" message appearing at the start of every turn except first

changes:

- all altered random maps are cleaned from villages adjacent to other villages or castles before the first turn
- replaced "delayed" and "smiting" attack specials with "charging" attack special for "valorous sword" attack of Valon Valiant, tweaked animation of this attack to be faster
- valon sorcerer is renamed to valon evoker
- fixed bug specific to BfW 1.14: division by zero error message appearing when attack with swarming attack special is used in combat

version 0.5.4 is published for BfW 1.10.7, 1.12.6 and 1.14.x

changes:

- when scrolling to villages lost since last turn then location of given village is highlighted with animation of red ellipse converging around the village and returning to its original size with crossed swords inside it
- all altered random maps are allowed to put castles on forest tiles, including snowy and desert forests and forests on hills
- added descriptions of additional UI elements and how to disable some notifications to menu opened with "Info On Other Rules" right-click menu entry
- fixed: for corruption rule amount of gold awarded to other players equals income over 25 gold/turn divided by number of remaining players minus one instead of number of remaining players
- increased melee damage of gnome balooner and its advancements
- small changes in fey race/faction:
changed fey enigmat's damage to 9-3 for melee attack and 10-2 for ranged
changed fey arcanist's damage to 10-3 for melee attack
reduced fey nymph's damage to 11-1 for "striking beauty" attack and added hindering and triggering attack specials to it
- small changes in thanats race/faction:
changed chilling touch attacks of caster line (including theurg avatar): changed damage type to cold, reduced number of strikes to 1 and increased damage per strike
added blunt melee attack for caster line (fist for caster, staff for lich and theurg)
changed sound of chilling stream attack of caster line
made drifter's appearance slightly darker
