[Music] A Letter from Lintanir

Post by Dugucloud »

Several weeks ago, I composed a short piece of music A Letter from Lintanir. I haven't post it to other places except some my friends. This is just a practice of using SSO. I am really interested in the voice. :D

I named it 'A Letter from Lintanir', but I want a better name. Do you have any suggestions?

It's a good start but I think it has room for improvement. The harp in the background needs some variation and the main melody would sound better with some more expressive woodwinds I think.

Thank you. This is my first try. I will be better if I continue.

I think this piece is not complex enough. Right?

I think what you have is a good base, but it needs something more: *for example* you could progressively add more instruments building up to a climatic point- then finish it off with the beginning simplicity.

Yeah, I would definitely add more instruments. What you have is fine for the beginning, but you song needs to progress more instrumentally as it moves. For instance, you could add a violin ensemble instead of just the solo. Its fine to open with the solo, but you could add the ensemble at some point in your song just to give it a 'bigger' feel. Also I would pan your instruments out to the sides more. They seem to all be coming from directly ahead.

Probably. One suggestion I would give is to not stick to the same instrument for the melody. It bores the listener if the same instrument plays the melody for the entire song.

BTW, what samples are you using?
